Just watched it again after several years ago.
It's so good, too. There's so many awesome quotes, and funny moments. Jackie was really played all of those dudes. Every main character is so important to the overall plot.
It's genius.
I think people didn't like this movie because it stars a black woman and they're used to Tarantino's other films.
But this is probably his best. I like it better than Once Upon A Time in Hollywood. -

No, I love Pam Grier but this was just terrible–the first time Tarantino showed he was really fallible as a filmmaker. This should have been a great movie. This is based on an Elmore Leonard novel, and the way Tarantino writes dialogue is largely lifted from Leonard, so this should have been a match made in heaven. Instead, everything QT added to it turned it into a ponderous bore of a movie.
On the bright side–this movie's only bright side–this is easily the best Chris Tucker movie ever made, as 5 minutes after Tucker first appears, Sam Jackson stuffs him in a car-trunk and blows his head off with a shotgun. That, alone, makes it worth a look (and if any of Tucker's movies were anywhere near that good, I'd line up for them).

It's not just a great crime film, but it has a fantastic soundtrack and it works really well as a "hang out" film. (A hang out film is one with long stretches where almost nothing happens plot wise, but you have fun just watching the characters interact.)
