This is a pathetic pseudo-Southern gothic flick that has as much in common with TW as chewing gum has with eating a sumptious meal. Vapid. Airless. Self important. Vaughn's character is an obnoxious busybody with a startling lack of moral courage. Rated 3 (generously)

I think there are at least two things at work in people's decisions regarding this movie. First, the subject matter and darkness of the film make it either a love it or hate it type film. Second, it depends on other aspects that some include in their decision. I write, so I tend to be more critical of the writing. I often find myself reworking the dialog of a movie. My daughter is an actress, so she tends to view a film from an actor's point of view. In her estimation the darker the movie the better.

The Locusts was a GREAT movie! One of Vince Vaughn's best in my opinion! Why does it have such a low score
Agreed
It deserves alot higher score than 6.0..its atleast an 8.0

Yep, IMO a score that would better reflect this films merits would be about 7.2.
What's an ever bigger puzzler though, is that the IMDB rating was 6.0 when the OP first wrote his comments back in 2005, and here we are over 8 years later, and the IMDB rating is still the exact same 6.0
