oh my god, just like that old old guy lusting young girls "what happens in rio" with michael caine, this is one of those movies where a middle age actor uses a movie as an excuse to fiddle around with a young girl, we saw it with minis first time a few years ago with alex baldwin where he had a steamy sex scene with a girl who was 16 at the time of the making,
i hate this, sigh

With the crew and her parents around at all times I doubt it's the least bit arousing. It's called acting. People pretend to kill and torture people in movies which is probably worse but we're so used to it, so it's okay. We're just too desensitized about violence in movies but not this type of acting so we feel like it's still perverted.

I am not sure what you are getting at Jeremy Irons is a very decent man.
I hope you aren't accusing him of taking this role to come close to a teenager the scenes with Deloris naked were made with a stand-in who was over the age of 20.
I am for one glad that this movie was made because it show what childhood trauma does to a child who should instead be dating young boys and going to school

The OP does know this film was based on the Vladimir Nabokov novel of the same name written in the 1950s, right? I know it was fairly controversial then. But then again, they made a film version in 1962 directed by Stanley Kubrick, starring James Mason, Shelley Winters, Peter Sellers, and Sue Lyons. This is only the second film adaptation of the Nabokov novel.

How about no. They used body doubles for all the nude scenes and body pillows and clever camera angles for the rest, as Jeremy himself said: "Of course, I couldn't touch her at all." He brought his wife and kids (same age as Dominique) to the set and Dominique's parent/s were present every second she was. Jeremy has been married to the same woman (who is a few months older than him) for over 37 years, does a lot of charity work, no criminal record. He took on this role as an artistic choice, not a primitive one.
