I think alot of that behaviour is meant to constantly remind the viewer how young she is, meaning she is not a lady but a child
    Do guys like "the thing"?
They like it better than no thing.

It is in the novel. "Lolita was a great shower of leg." I think the direct was trying to visualize the book.

Yes. Her immature behaviour is a motif in this film: it emphasizes the point that he's in love with a child. She's not in love with him, she's just experimenting with her sexuality as teenagers do, and she still has a lot to learn about what she wants in regards to love. He thinks he has finally rediscovered his soul mate in this girl which he lost when he was 14, but it's just an illusion.

She is a child and Humbert states in the book that she showed alot of leg; she was quite unashamedly unladylike. Get over it - she was a bouncy 12 year old precocious tomboy.

QFT no child deserves to be raped regardless of How Much leg they show. that is saying an adult male has zero control if any part of a woman's anatomy shows. That is saying that women bare the onus of making sure all men behave by covering up every square inch of skin, and wearing baggy clothes,..
              Sharia law anyone?

What the beep are you talking about?! I'm not saying she deserved to be raped for showing alot of leg!
Get off your high horse, mate. All I was saying is that she was a young girl who, like all young girls, don't have any sexuality in mind when they are wearing little clothing. I said nothing about being raped, ya wanker.

because all i wads doing was agreeing with what you had Just said. You need to learn that sometimes.when someone disagrees with a posterthey will reply to that poster and show where they disagree. Sometimes. when they agree strongly. they will do the same
why did I use QFT? Because QFT = Quoted For Truth is an internet convention used to show strong agreement , and has been for several years. this is Not something i just made upit is something a LOT of others also do.
                      From The Urban Dictionary:
                      QUOTED FOR TRUTH
Used on internet forums when quoting someone with similar views as yours.
                      " " Originaly quoted by mike27
cosco is a great place to buy bulk tinfoil for making hats. Make sure you stock up as the govn't is done with project Nick Berg and will be moving on to project brain wash. "
                      QFT "
                      http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=QFT
May as well ask me why I use any of the following while you are at it :
LOL, ROFTLMAO PMSL WTH?? WTF ?? OMG etc yes I guess I also need to explain the use of ETC?
I used QFT because it means Quoted For Truth means " what you say is truth" It also means " I agree with you so strongly, I am voicing My agreement to give your Point as strong an affirmation to YOUR point, because I am showing I agree with you MORE thyan i disagree with the person you disagree with." that you do not understand how or why someone would say QFT as a reply to your Postthat you do not understand that the reply button is not ONLY to be used to disagree says maybe you need to educate yourself more, before you automatically reply with Invective, and insult especially with someone that did NOTHING but agree with you of course the problem as i see it now is one of you Not willing to say " I was ignorant about what QFT meant I was also ignorant that sometimes people hit reply when they agree with one another and since the words " I am sorry" are too hard for me to utter, I will try and Put YOU on the defensive. for using a phrase " QFT" that a LOT of people on the Internet useand yell at you for doing something other people on the internet do. reply on forums to posts they agree with strongly after all, this saves face and this takes attention away from the fact that I should have known better the problem is your use of terms everyone else understands, and using the reply button in ways others do as wellbecause if this is NOT the case, then God forbid, I admit I was wrong."

Hey, can you please stop condescending to me and telling me to educate myself?
From my perspective, it really wasn't clear that you were agreeing with me, especially when you quoted what I said. I apologise for insulting you but I really thought you were attacking me. I'm sorry.

I completely agree with you. She didn't dress, sit, or behave like a proper lady should at all! Modesty is a must! It is natural for a man to be tempted if the temptation stands before him. She wasn't a child, she was a teenager. She knew exactly what she was doing. She started puberty a year before. She is in the sense a woman and should have guarded herself respectfully. I was fourteen before and fourteen year olds in America (be it whatever era) fully know what sex is. Once you enter puberty you are able to feel the emotional and physical level of sex. Note how in that one scene on the rocking chair she is getting a lot of pleasure from his being beneath her and moving with her. She was a complete wanton. And to do it with her mother's husband, of all people! She even admitted that it would be incest in a way (not by blood, by law/marriage). Dolores knew what she was doing the whole time, she knew what she was getting into. Then when she decided she was bored she moved on with another man for a, "wild adventure" on stage. He didn't fit her expectations, she didn't want to, "blow", anyone to get roles. And then she met her love and got pregnant. She was low on money and decided to write to her, "dad", for some money. Seriously? She ignored him for three years and then the only time she even bothers to make contact is when she wants something. Want, desire, she lets it get the best of her.
And that is not to say that Humbert wasn't to blame also. For goodness sake he married her mother! That's just completely unlawful! After practically murdering her, he still went on with his selfish desires. All right if you are going to prey on a woman who is flirting with you, don't get involved with her mother or anyone near and dear to her. Yes I consider her a woman, she has already had her menstruations. Therefore, she is not a child.

Ummmm perhaps this might be TMI, but if I started menstruating at 11 years old, did that make me a full woman at 11? HELL NO! My body may have begun to mature, but I was still a

at 11 years old. "Lolita" took place in the 20th century, not the 10th!
                                      She was a complete wanton.
You seriously wrote that on a message board? I didn't even think that word was commonly used anymore, let alone applied to

                                      Don't make excuses for HH.
I think I'm just going to leave this board as quickly as I arrived. I've read to many disgusting and disturbing posts in this thread alone.

in a way, I'm completely with you on the issue, wantxeuphoria. there's a difference between girls that age starting to explore their sexuality and the way she acted and behaved, and she seemed to be completely aware of what she was doing. which still doesn't mean I'm of the opinion that it was all her fault alone, which I'm definitely not.
