Sanna 075 asked for the names of movies with an older man/younger woman theme. These are some of my favorites.
Sara (1996). This is a Polish film. It is about an ex special forces soldier(Leon,40) who is hired to be the bodyguard of the 16 year old daughter of a mob boss. The two fall in love but have many obstacles to overcome including the fact that Sara's father really will kill Leon is he finds out about the relationship. Needless to say he does find out. The first 10 minutes of this film really are quite awful, but then it suddenly gets better and the further the film progresses the better it gets. This is one of my favorite films and the conclusion is my all time favorite movie ending. I have lent my copy to many friends and I have yet to have anyone tell me they disliked it. You will probably need to purchase a copy from a Polish film distributor as it's rather an unknown film outside of Poland. I got mine through mge.tv -

Zelary (2003). This is a wonderful film from Czechoslavokia. It is very well made and was nominated for an Oscar in the best foreign film catagory. Zelary is the true story of 19 year old Eliska who was a member of the underground during the Second World War. When the Gestapo infiltrated her unit she was sent to hide in a remote village in the mountains posing as the wife of one of the village men.(Joza, around 42) At first the relationship between the two of them was rather prickly, but after a time a true love developed. I must warn you, the ending is a tear-jerker.

Phantom of the Opera (2005). This is the film version of the musical by Webber. 16 year old Christine has been raised in the Paris Opera House since the death of her father, a famous musician. She has been recieving singing lessons from a man she has yet to see in person but is known only as the Opera Ghost. The Opera Ghost is really a man in his mid 30's who lives in seclusion underneath the opera house due to a disfigurement to half of his face. The Phantom has fallen deeply in love with Christine but Christine loves Raul, a childhood sweetheart. The music in this film is fantastic, the sets and costumes are gorgeous, and even with the mask, the Phantom is so sexy you just want to shake Christine.

Jane Eyre. Jane is an 18 year old orphan who secures a position as governess to the ward of Edward Rochester (about 40). Jane and Rochester fall in love and wish to marry but unfortunatly there a a few things Jane doesen't know about Mr. Rochester, namely that he is not single but already has a wife, and due to the fact that his wife is insane, he can't legally seek a divorce to marry Jane.
This story is the great, great, great, great, great grandmother of all romance novels and has been filmed no less than 19 times since 1910. There is another version currently in production. My favorite version was filmed in 1970 and stars George C. Scott as Rochester. -

Beyond Obsession (1982). This isn't one of my favorites, but it certainly fits in with a Lolita like theme. An American man (played by Tom Baringer) is sent to Morocco to work on an oil rig. He meets and falls in love with a beautiful Italian woman named Nina, but Nina already has a lover;her stepfather (played by Marcello Mastroinni). Nina and her stepfather have been lovers since she was 13 and although she is now in her mid-twenties,Nini can't break the phychological and physical hold her stepfather has on her. The relationship between them is unhealthy to say the least.
The film quality of this movie is very poor and so is the Italian dubbing. It is also not one of Tom Beringer's best films but Marcello Mastionni, one of Italy's most famous actors, plays his part masterfully. The film is both compelling and repulsive at the same time. -

Can't find Beyond Obsession here at IMDB. Can you??
"She was Lo, plain Lo, in the morning, standing four feet ten in one sock.
She was Lola in slacks. She was Dolly at school. She was Dolores on
the dotted line. But in my arms she was always Lolita. Light of my life,
fire of my loins. My sin, my soul. Lolita" -

To Have and Have Not (1944). This classic story of resistance fighters during the Second World War starred 45 year old Humphrey Bogart and 19 year old Lauren Bacall. The sexual chemistry plainly seen between the two was more than just acting. The two married a year later and made several films together including The Big Sleep, Dark Passage, and Key Largo. Their marriage lasted until Bogart's death from cancer 12 years later and is considered one of Hollywood's great love stories. Miss. Bacall has often spoken of the intense love that existed between them.

Sean Connery has been in at least five films with an older man/younger woman theme. These include:
Entrapment (1999). Connery plays a professional thief opposite Catherine Zeta Jones as his love interest. Catherine Zeta Jones was 30 and Sean Connery was 69 when this film was made.
First Knight (1995). A very loose version of the King Arthur legend. Connery is great as Arthur and was 65 when the film was made. 46 year old Richard Gere was Lancelot and 30 year old Julia Ormond played Quenivere.
Medicine Man (1992). Connery plays a doctor in South America who finds a cure for cancer. Larraine Bracco plays a fellow doctor sent to be his assistant but winds up as his love interest. Connery was 62 and Bracco was 38 when they made the film.
Russia House (1990). Political thriller set in the Soviet Union starring Michelle Pfeiffer with Connery. Connery was 60 and Pfeiffer was 32 when the film was made.
Never Say Never Again (1983). Connery revised his role as James Bond at the age of 53 for one last fling. 30 year old Kim Basinger was cast as the bond girl.
Five Days One Summer (1982). Connery plays a married man of about 50 who begins a taboo love affair with his twenty year old niece. The two travel to Switzerland intending to spend a few idealic days together but guilt is eating at both of them.Connery is outstanding in this movie. He was 53 when he made the film. 27 year old Betsy Brantley played the part of his niece.
Cuba (1979). Political thriller set in 1959 right before Castro took control of Cuba. Connery made the film when he was 49. 30 year old Brooks Adams plays the love interest.
Okay, so there is up to a 40 year age discepency between Connery and his leading ladies. Who cares? Connery is HOT no matter how old he is. -

Audrey Hepburn was frequently cast in films with an older man/younger woman theme. Some of the ones I have seen are:
Roman Holiday (1953). Hepburn, (24 at the time) plays a princess (about 21) who runs away in an effort to escape the demanding and never-ending duties placed upon her. She meets a photojournalist in his mid-thirties (played by 37 year old Gregory Peck)who at first is only interested in getting a good story, but winds up falling in love with her. Hepburn won an Academy Award for her performance in this film.
Sabrina (1954). 25 year old Hepburn plays Sabrina, the daughter of a chauffer who works for a very wealthy pair of brothers (played by 36 year old William Holdon and 55 year old Humphrey Bogart). Since she was a little girl, Sabrina has been in love with the younger of the two. Her father is concerned about the attraction and sends her to school in France. When she finishes college she becomes bound and determined to make the younger of the two brothers notice her, but it is the older one who falls in love with her.
Love in the Afternoon. (1957). 28 year old Hepburn is the daughter of a private investigator. Her father is hired to snoop upon a very rich, famous, and womanizing playboy (played by 56 year old Gary Cooper). Hepburn meets this man and the two. wind up falling in love with each other.
Funny Face (1957).28 year old Hepburn plays a fashion model who falls in love with a photographer played by Fred Astaire (58 at the time).
The Unforgiven (1960). This is one of my favorite westerns. Hepburn plays the part of a foundling brought up by a family in the west. She has always loved the oldest son of the family (around 33, played by Burt Lancaster). When she is around 18 it is discovered that she is not white but is actually a Native American who was stolen from her tribe when she was an infant. The tribe from which she was stolen surrounds the homestead with the intention of taking her back to the tribe by force. Hepburn was 31 when she made this film. Burt Lancaster was 47.
Charade (1963). Murder Mystery and romance involving stolen art treasures. Hepburn and Gary Cooper meet and fall in love with each other while trying to unravel the mystery. Hepburn becomes convinced that Cooper is really trying to kill her. Hepburn was 34 when she made the film. Cooper was 59.
My Fair Lady (1964). The classic story of Liza Doolittle, a 22 old Cockney flower girl who is transformed into a true lady by Henry Higgins, a famous teacher of phonetics in his mid-forties. Professor Higgins treats Liza mainly as an object to cover the fact that he has fallen in love with her. Liza has also fallen in love with Professor Higgins.Hepburn was 35 when she played the part of Liza. 56 year old Rex Harrison was Henry Higgins.
Well let's see.. Gregory Peck, Humphrey Bogart, William Holden, Cary Grant, Gary Cooper,Fred Astaire, Burt Lancaster, and Rex Harrison. Some girls really do have all the luck. -

Leon
"Mathilda, a twelve-year old New York girl, is living an undesirable life among her half-family. Her father stores drugs for two-faced cop Norman Stansfield. Only her little brother keeps Mathilda from breaking apart. One day, Stansfield and his team take cruel revenge on her father for stretching the drugs a little, thus killing the whole family. Only Mathilda, who was out shopping, survives by finding shelter in Lon's apartment in the moment of highest need. Soon, she finds out about the strange neighbour's unusual profession - killing - and desperately seeks his help in taking revenge for her little brother. Now, the conflict between a killer, who slowly discovers his abilities to live, to feel, to love and a corrupt police officer, who does anything in his might to get rid of an eye witness, arises to unmeasurable proportions - all for the sake of a little twelve-year old girl, who has nearly nothing to lose."
The relationship is a controversial one. She is in love with him as he is with her she is 12 he is in his 40's!
