There's a theme in a lot of Catherine Cookson adaptations of a man befriending a young girl and as soon as she comes of age they get it together.
Off the top of my head:
The Rag Nymph
The Secret
The Glass Virgin
The Girl
Colour Blind
Tilly Trotter (My fave)
I'd definitely recommend looking them up, they're really good films.

"10" (1979). George has just passed his 42nd birthday and finds himself struggling with a mid-life crisis. While stopped at an intersection he notices the limo that pulls up in the lane next to him is carrying a young bride to her wedding. George is immediately smitten thinking the young woman is the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. On an impulse he follows her to the church and watches her get married. After the ceremony is over George becomes obsessed with the desire to meet this young bride and upon discovering where the couple will be honeymooning he follows them to the same hotel looking for an opportunity to introduce himself to Jenny, the young bride who has now come to represent to George a means of reliving his youth.
44 year-old Dudley Moore starred as George and 22 year-old Bo Derek played Jenny. When this film came out it was not only a huge hit, but it made Bo Derek a household name. Ironically, Bo Derek was married to actor/director John Derek who was 30 years her senior. They married when Bo was 19 and John was 49. The marriage lasted 22 years ending when John died from heart disease in 1998. -

Also (and this may already have been listed) Noce Blanche (1989)

Saw it the other day and really enjoyed it.

The Diary of a Teenage Girl (2015) directed by Marielle Heller.
The film is based on the graphic novel by Phoebe Gloeckner.
"The story of a 15-year-old girl that has just started an affair with her mother's boyfriend in 1970's San Francisco".
From the official synopsis:
Like most teenage girls, Minnie Goetze (Bel Powley) is longing for love, acceptance and a sense of purpose in the world. Minnie begins a complex love affair with her mothers boyfriend, the handsomest man in the world, Monroe Rutherford (Alexander Skarsgrd). What follows is a sharp, funny and provocative account of one girls sexual and artistic awakening, without judgment.
The film premiered earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival and opens in Us cinemas on August 7 and in Europe August/September (depending on country).
The reviews have been great so far and I cant wait to see this film. -

I know it's been awhile since this thread was active, but i was wondering if you guys would be interested in Asian drama recommendations that involve age difference, specifically those from South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan. They aren't movies, but they are short television series that usually last around 10-20 episodes. i have a bunch that I could recommend and where you can find them, just let me know if you are interested
