It is amazing just how many people do not understand what pedophilia actually is, yet they go on some holy moral crusade, condemning those who felt aroused in some scenes.
Most of those people probably were aroused too, but would never admit it, thinking it is wrong - which it isn't, but explaining this to moralists that bathe in double standards is pointless, no matter how simple the explanation is.
Still, so no one can say I would not have tried let's do this:
Pedophilia:
Sexual feelings directed towards
children
.
Children:
Young human beings below the age of
puberty
.
Puberty:
Puberty is the process of physical changes through which a child's body matures into an adult body capable of sexual reproduction to enable fertilization.
Now, girls are usually done with puberty around the age of 14/15.
To put it bluntly: To be sexually interested in a 15yo girl is biologically totally normal and simply what nature intended.
Why is this the case?
Simple. By instinct, men look for young women since they are perfectly healthy and offer the greatest chances to deliver a healthy child. That is all their is to it, it isn't rocket science.
So, stop accusing people who felt their dick move in one scene or the other of being pedophiles - cause they are not.
You are just ill-educated to think so.
And yes, some scenes totally aroused me.
Saw this movie when I was a teenage boy myself though. -

Why don't you do a little research into the long term effects of paedophilia/ephebophilia on the child victims before you rant at those who are sickened and horrified by these relationships. The child is always a victim, because the adult has the power in the relationship. He was paying her for sex - prostituting her, and at the age of 14, her personality/character is still being formed. So that's gonna have a lifelong, detrimental impact on her.
I work as a counsellor so I've worked with alot of people who were raped as children/teens and I know the horrific lifelong effects this has on them - it never goes away. So yes, adults should never take advantage of children, even if their bodies are starting to mature. It's completely selfish and wrong, as Hump knew it was in the book/movie, and there's good reason it's such a taboo.
I simply am not there -

I think the previous poster was merely talking about arousal, not actual sex or rape or prostitution. Being aroused by post-puberty 15-16 year old girls is perfectly normal. Actually sleeping with them (if age difference is too big) is a different story. Being aroused
only
by 15-16 year old girls would probably be classified as ephebophilia, which is problematic if acted upon, depending on age of course. -

14/15 year old girls do NOT have adult bodies (and certainly not brains or minds. Nor are the DONE with puberty at 14/15, but are still in the midst of it (many, not most, but many haven't even started their periods yet). NOR do they stand a good chance of healthy offspring, because their bodies are not yet mature, and they are, in fact, MORE likely to have serious complications that adversely effect their health and that of their babies.
But hey, other than being just completely wrong you bring up great points. -

You don't have to believe me - but simply saying "you're wrong!" without delivering any sort of argument except sounding like a typical "rape culture prophet" who ignores biological and scientific facts because they make him/her feel uncomfortable.
There is only
the
truth.
Your opinion =/= truth.
And all one needs to know about this topic is easily found online with multiple sources to back it up.

Like most normal adult males, I find 20-year-old girls very sexually attractive, 10-year-old girls not sexually attractive in the slightest, and 15-year-old girls somewhere in between depending on how physically mature they are.
If you ask any male how old is first sexual partner was, they will probably be under 18 at least half the time, so it's plain stupid to feel you have to go around as an adult thinking all teenage girls under 18 are unattractive and "disgusting".
Of course, you shouldn't sleep with 14-year-old girls if you're 40. You probably shouldn't do a LOT of things in real-life that you see in movies or books. But why do people worry so much about people imitating Humbert Humbert as opposed to Hannibal Lecter? Sex with teenagers is much more common than serial murder, but it's also not as horrible. But the point is if you don't ALREADY want to do something, watching a movie about it isn't going to push you over the edge.
