Of all of Frank Langella's roles, his time onscreen as Quilty is the creepiest. I've only seen Lolita a few times but every time Quilty is on screen my skin crawls.

He doesn't evoke creepy feelings during the hotel scenes whereby he keeps fooling Humbert with his provocative dialogue but when Humbert finally catches up with him and threatens his death, that really is creepy. The way he seductively caresses his crossed leg and offers Humbert access to executions and such turns my blood cold.
