Are the End Times Upon Us?

Plus it seems there were indeed mass shootings pre the 60's.
Examples of pre-1960s mass shootings:
1903: Gilbert Twigg killed nine people and wounded 25 others in Winfield, Kansas.1936: Wesley Crow shot and killed five people in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.1940: Verlin Spencer killed four people on Pasadena Public School property.1948: Melvin Collins killed eight people and injured many more at a boarding house.1949: Howard Unruh shot 13 people and wounded at least five others in Camden, New Jersey.

People just lie.
You don't know that.
It might be unintentional if the writer did not do his homework.
And plus we did not have them on this massive scale of a dozen or so headline shootings we get every year.
Instead of attacking the messenger you could take part in the conversation instead of getting distracted by an irrelevant little thing.

It's not irrelevant, Warren. Whether it is a lie or someone not checking the facts, it is still false information which they have put forward to support the idea that everything is to blame except guns.

See my previous response to Crypt where I also question some of his motives, Warren.
I don't think he has a pro gun agenda but it seems like he is sharing some thoughts as part of an inquiry in a philosophical way.

Paul is right at how things have changed to be worse to make it look like doomsday more than ever.
Besides more and more guns and nukes another one that could end us is man made global warming which the gun nuts also don't care to end or try and change.
As for what he wrote here:
It doesn’t help to understand what has happened to blame guns. Karl Marx would scoff at the reification of inanimate objects by liberals. As long as causes, such as gun control, use the shootings for their agenda, we will not obtain insight into what has produced a 23 year old person who can fire away at children in a church.
I disagree because that is the bullshit excuse gun nut owners us to justify their deadly weapons.
(Also, detectives are looking for a motivation or cause to give us the insight.)
They always say it is all on the shooter and not the gun at all.
This is a way to never end gun crimes because it is going to take for ****ing ever to try and fix everyone to be sane enough to be around these deadly weapons if they get ahold of one.
It's an impossible task compared to ending it sooner by taking away the guns as Clinton did when he had a 30 yr. ban on assault rifles and the massive shootings dropped way the **** down and now the ban is over they rose back up to pre ban numbers or higher.
So that is another factor.
Having easy access rapid fire weapons that can hold multiple rounds.
It makes no ****ing sense at all to allow the public to have any of these guns.

I think it's often a combination of factors that create these mass killers: mental collapse, easy access to assault weapons, psychotropic drugs, and a society that's lost its moral compass. Almost every mass shooter from the Columbine guys to the Virginia Tech guy to James Holmes to Adam Lanza, etc. had psychological issues and were on some kind of anxiety drug to treat their problem. These drugs can obviously have adverse effects on some people. People with such issues should never have access to guns esp. assault guns.

I agree that the general public shouldn't be allowed to own certain kinds of guns. -

Well, we are not talking about nerf or squirt guns.
Since the one and only purpose of every gun is to inflict harm technically they can ALL be called assault guns.

Assault weapon/assault gun…whatever.
I'm pro Second Amendment and have no problem with sane responsible people owning guns for hunting, personal/home protection, etc. but why would anyone outside of law enforcement or active military want an assault weapon (AR-15s, AK-47s, Uzis, etc.)? -

Home defense or in case the power goes out and doesn't come back on. Nothing wrong with being prepared. Or if Democrats happen to riot in my neighborhood, we know how much they love burning private property to the ground.

I agree so why can't we work on both at the same time?
Getting people the mental help they need with Govt. assistance, which may be cheaper in the long run then hiring more cops, using up the courts, putting them in jail for life etc.
And in the meantime getting rid of the guns that can do the most damage in the least amount of time if not all of them.
MAGA is just so ****ing wonky.
Do they want to end crime or not?
Well, their ideas for ending it is to not prevent it in the ways I'm suggesting.
At some point martial law will end in DC and we are probably going to see murder rates go up again because guns will still be there.
So why not start DC gun bans for when the Feds leave after kidnapping all the migrants there?
America is way beyond FUBAR and it is only going to get worse as long as we have a non compassion, non caring MAGA around that somehow thinks might makes right when it never does.

That would be nice (I think it's already illegal for civilians to openly carry ANY TYPE of gun in Washington D.C.) but unfortunately the gang bangers and criminals would still get guns illegally. -

My guess is the criminals will just move elsewhere and do their things in other places or just cool off until Martial Law leaves.
Places that did have high crime rates, such as Chicago, are lowered because they are coming together as communities are preventing crimes with centers and other things that give future potential criminals something else to do instead which is legal and a way to live.
I should find the article that showed this and post it as a thread.
I'll tag ya if I do.
