Why does Chris tucker hide when Jackie chan is tryin to warn the FBI that there is probaly a bomb in the building. Just recently rewatched it. It bothered me b4 and it's bothering me again, is there something I'm missing at this point in the movie, because a bunch of people just dies. Just curious if anybody knows.

He left Inspector Lee holding the bag.
If there was no bomb, only Lee would be chastised.
If there indeed was a bomb, he was close enough to claim creditwith Lee.

He's trying to save face infront of the the FBI. He knows they'll think they're crazy when they tell them about the bomb and he doesn't truly believe there is a bomb in the building. He's a bit of a coward, and lets Jackie look stupid by himself.
Another brilliant post Steinberg -

I think he actually tries to be productive during that time. In case they are bluffing, he can escape and get backup. I am now watching that scene and I did see where he hid. Then again, if someone was pointing a gun at your accomplice and you had a chance to make an escape, wouldn't you? This is especially when you could possibly get help while using your accomplice as a diversion?
