I believe the sex scene was originally intercut with Anakin fixing the pod. It starts off with them swapping jokes about being "rusty" as the neighborhood kids mock Anakin's racer and culminates with Anakin shouting "It's working! It's working!" as they achieve simultaneous orgasm.
