      You're getting older, grandpa!
What songs don't sound as good to you anymore? Some of it has to do with tech, and how you get accustomed to some of the new sounds; so older ones don't really sound that interesting anymore.
The better ones that stand the test of time are almost always with a band that doesn't rely on tech very much. (80's synthesizers for example, sounded cool at the time, but are kind of "huh?" today).

Anything with a Hammond B3 will never age. To me, music changed with the video age because the performers needed to have a good stage appearance as well. Just look at the success of Bananarama. 😉 At the same time, Alison Moyet of Yazoo (Yaz) had probably the best singing voice, but her physical appearance made her third fiddle to Chrissie Hynde and Annie Lennox who had better visual presence. MTV also made things pretty cookie cutter, so I think the appearance of electronics in music, and it going downhill, was more coincidental than causal. Was watching "Life During Wartime" the other day and one can hardly say the synthesizer ruined that song. So music today lacking in quality is more about musicians themselves lacking quality, sort of like every new band is a "Monkees" clone created by some suits. We'll likely never see another Dylan, Simon, Mitchell, King as sonqwriters again.
Not a grandpa legally, but I'm older than most grannies at the playground.

Well, to be honest, I can't remember but it's a good number of tunes that I just can't stand anymore albeit I wouldn't make a fuss either if someone was listening to them.
Going back to film/television, comedy was also much better in the previous years than it is now. Now, you may find decent comedy but you have to have a hard look to actually find it.
          Ghostbusters: Answer the Call
is considered a "comedy" and a "horror" yet, it neither was funny or frightening to me. Anyway, I would rather not Answer the Call otherwise Leslie Jones or Paul Feig go on an endless nonsensical rant.

I think that art benefits from a bit of censorship. Really good comedians don't need to F this and F that all the time. Great comedy can be done without constant swearing if people work at it. This is still one of my favorite all-time segments from Carson. The speed at which their minds worked was incredible.
