SOMETHING MUST BE DONE

They were the birth of some of my favorite directors (Quentin Tarantino, Kevin Smith, Paul T. Anderson). Yes, I agree that Nick should be less materialized and more kid-oriented, and that some breaks should be taken so kids can go outside and play (even though I'm speaking during the last weeks of the Northern Hemisphere's fall, I can wait for summer). Totally, Nick should revamp so kids can be kids without having to swallow annoying advertising that isn't like the classics and show more cartoons and other age appropriate shows.

Nickelodeon's target demographic is children and preteens. Not 18 year-old over-nostalgic adults. The shows were great, but television is about innovation. Networks need to try new things and get new ideas, because the mentalities of their viewers are changing. I guarantee you that the frames of mind that you or I had when we were 9 years old is very different from a 9 year-old today.
If you can't live without your cartoons, splurge and upgrade your television package so you can get the Nicktoons channel.

Im guessing you Like Unfabulous, Zoey 101 and Naked brothers band Cristasarus.
im 16 and i grew up in the 1990's, Also Nicktoons is now playing beep cartoons such as Avatar,Martin Mystery, El Tigre, And others.
You'll never see Rocko's Modern Life or any of those unless it happens to be on the greatest nicktoons Countdown. -

Why would you guess that? Because I understand that kids now are different than kids in the 90s? Whatever. Anyway, I grew up in the 90's too. GREW UP. Meaning that I don't watch Nickelodeon anymore. So I've never even seen Unfabulous, Zoey 101 or Naked Brothers Band. But kudos to you if you still watch it.

The world doesn't change, it's only the details that changemeaning that kids today would be just as happy as we were with the likes of Kablaam and the Mystery Files of Shelby Woo and Kenan and Kel and Muppet Babies and Tiny Toons on Nickeloden if the people who work at Nickelodeon had used their brains and KEPT those shows on. But nooooooooooooooooo, that wasn't good enough for them, progress for progress' sake is how they work, however progress is becoming more ass backwards with every passing day. And I'm HAPPY to say that when I have kids they are NOT going to be watching the new modern crap they put out on TV.

You're right, but Nickelodeon can do something to also gain more viewers, the nostalgic adults, by airing old 90's cartoons on the weekends, Sunday night, or whatever on Nick. If Nickelodeon wants to "own" Disney channel all they have to do is appeal to the adult demographic and reel in twice as many viewers (okay a wee bit of exaggeration) by bringing back old cartoons and old 90's sitcoms. If nothing else, they can create a channel like TVLand but air only 80's and 90's cartoons. Not just Nickelodeon stuff but He-Man, She-Ra, Thundercats, Jem and the Holograms, etc. And I don't mean those stupid Noggin, MTV2 beep channels that cost extra money and are unavailable to people like me who live in the suburbs/country. It needs to be a REAL channel for Chrissakes. TV is getting really bad and the only thing I can stand to watch anymore are good shows from DVDs that have aired and passed. End of story.

I may be sixteen (seventeen in less than a week) but if shows like Kablam, Clarissa and Angry Monsters were still on Nick I would happily watch it every day after school.
It seems like all the good networks are trying to re-vamp their shows but they're only making it worse. -

holy bleep, i cannot tell you how much i miss those shows, i grew up in the 90's (im 21) I remember rocko, ren and stimpy, doug, real monsters, hey arnold, kablaam, rugrats, etci remember sundays they would show all the game shows like what would you do, wet wild and crazy kids, guts. i remember SNICK (the greatest thing ever) with clarissa, are you afraid of the dark, all that, keenen and kel,and my favorite PETE AND PETE, hey dude, eat my shorts (thier are probably more i am forgetting)
These shows will probably never return, unless they make a new channel for them. I only watch nick for spongebob, all the other shows are crap.
All of these shows need to be put on dvd, you could probably do a couple shows on a couple dvds to save money, and it could be called nicks greatest hits or something.

Omg I totally agree. They should at least have a channel with shows from the 90s. If they did, i would watch them in a heartbeat (and prolly start to cry lol). Im pretty sure that would have really high ratings. Oh, and not all of us who miss these shows are adults. Im still at an age where ppl still watch nickelodeon lol..i just dont think its worth watching anymore. I know tv is about innovation and change for our current generation..but they should at least change for the better.

to the whining bitchasaurus a few posts up, im 17 and if nick still played those shows, I would watch them all the time. You are just ignorant because I think you would to.
People can grow up, but that doesn't mean you have to leave behind your childhood completley.
