Some of you people need to definitely remove the sticks from your asses and loosen the hell up. This movie is one of the hilarious things I've ever seen and it is mostly because it is one of the darkest films I've ever seen. If you can't laugh at this movie, then the reason is alot like some of the ones given by Boyd in the movie..its because of the conditioning that's been beat into you're head since day one. The fact that you're preventing yourselves from enjoying the movie because you find it wrong morally is ridicoulous. Its a movie..no one REALLY died. And not only is it just a movie, in no way is violence glorified, even if it is presented in a humorous way.
    Seriously.get over yourselves

What people need to understand is dark comedy is not for everyone. Also dark comedies all have different flavors. most of the ones that I've watched were just plain crap. But this one I thought was great the most f'd up ending ever.

I just watched this movie for the first time this past weekend and I wish I wasn't under the influence of mary jane at the time. People I was with told me that it was funny and it was a dark humor kind of movie but I just wasn't prepared for the movie and I didn't like it at all. I mean the security guard begging to live?! Sick. I'm not saying people who thought it was funny are sickos, I just didn't enjoy it at all but I dislike Cameron Diaz so the ending wasn't bad.

Well yeah, I did enjoy this movie (didn't think it was great, just OK) , but I definitely agree that this is the type of movie you DO NOT WANT to watch while stoned on mary jane 🙂

yup you missed everything in the movie. This movie is one of my favourites and makes me laugh a lot. From reading peoples comments on the movie, I'm very happy to realise that i have a different sense of humour.
I love the way all the characters freak out at different stages of the movie and I think it qualifies as a dark comedy because i think all dark comedies just make you laugh at someone's suffering.
I really like movies where people are not defined as good and evil. Pretty people normally being good. Everyone in this movie is 'Mad' and that is what makes it great.
I always recoment it to all my friends and strangely enough they all like it.

People that didn't like it went into it expecting too much. I loved it cause it showed the REAL side of people. The dark, paranoid side that is truely funny.
After the 5 '"regular" guys from suburbia "accidentally" killed a hooker while out partying in Vegas then bury her AND a security guards bodies out in the desert.it is hysterical how they all deal with the anxiety in keeping it all a secret. I found that to be the most realisitic of all.
Christian Slater's character ends up being a serial killer. I highly recommend renting this movie. DON'T rent it if you expect Shakespeare. If you and the guys like sick, dark, very funny shiit, get a case of beer and rent this DVD.
I like Cameron Diaz as the douchebag, self-centered beep beep and ask yourself while you are watching it..what would YOU do if you were in their situation????????

Have to agree with you 100%.
"It's annoying in real life when people continue to get louder and louder as they try to talk over each other, why make a movie out of it?" SO TRUE!!!!
Yelling, they were always yelling. I think I actually was shell shocked by this flick.

I think that to be fair yes I agree that this movie is too much for some people. you are dealing with murdering two people and the consequences of their actions. Hell Everyone in the movie lost their minds at some point.
But Its too much to see characters lose their minds and die horrible deaths.. Plus its too much to know that the remaining characters that we like have to suffer for the rest of their lives for what had happened at the Bachelor party. Plus they are to be tortured by those TWO BRATTY KIDS as well
I dont find this funny and I cant imagine why other people DO find this funny.
True DIAZ gets her desserts for DOMINATING her husband and caring more about a WEDDING than doing whats right.. but in the movie I only laughed when she told her HUBBY about how she was waiting X years to go down that aisle.. and when she beat up SLATER cuz its her day..
OTher n that I HATED the ending 😞

You have no point - you fast-forwarded the movie - don't post to say a movie is bad unless you have seen it

What's that say for the entirety of the horror genre if this movie was bad because you feel it didn't have much comedy? It had all the other qualities of a horror/thriller flick. Pretty much makes us all sick.

All the yelling over each other was just the worst. It made this movie nearly unbearable. I think it's safe to assume no one in this movie has ever actually been involved in this situation so they speculated that this is how you communicate once you and your friends been complicit in hooker murder and decided to frame all of the dialogue thusly. Some people actually think it was funny, I just found it grating and irritatinglike Jeremy Piven.

Yeah I didn't like it either really disappointing. I was a Christian Slater fan as a teenager and I feel like I have been waiting for ages to see this and couldn't be more let down. Your description of people shouting at each other was very accurate. It was just boring, loud arguments.
And the ending REALLY pissed me off. There is nothing funny at all about being in a wheelchair. I just thought all of the disabled people in her backyard at the end was not the comic climax it was supposed to be. I hated it. My mum is in a wheelchair and I just think if you are going to pick on someone for comic value in a movie it would be more intelligent to pick on any other group than one who is victimised and discriminated against all of their lives already. Was really low and I don't even get how it was supposed to be funny.

It was so bad I couldn't completely look away but left it on in the background while working. I think Ebert was right with the one star reprehensible rating.
It's unsettling that so many people admire it because it's so mean spirited and inconsistent. There are plenty of dark movies like Clockwork Orange that are thought provoking. This was just vulgar.

I startd watching this on Netflix ..lturned it off after the prostitute gets killed Before it culminated to that point I thought it looked like he was killing her it remindedmmemof a snuff film, what iveheard about them at least. Sorry but I found it a pretty scary storytelling.
Tuned it off because the story seemed to me to be mentally perverse
A sick story created by a sick mind. And racist to boot. It seems like something from the mind of a crack addict
I'm shocked such well respected actors would ever participate in such a perverse film Usually if you are a smart actor you turn down garbage. I wouldn't even compare to garbage cuz I wouldn't want to denigrate garbage . This is beyond perverse
Can't believe it was ever produced and released to the general public

                                  @jsavak24:
So you decide to watch a movie that is described on IMDB with one sentence: "A prostitute is killed during a bachelor party and the attendees turn on each other as the wedding approaches."
Then a prostitute does get killed and you turn it off because you are offended? Sorry, that doesn't make sense to me. And since you only saw 15 mins or so of the film, maybe you shouldn't comment on it and insult the filmmakers in the process.
This film is a dark comedy, a very dark comedy. It's completely over the top and unrealistic but the script and the acting are top notch and make it one of the funniest comedies of the 90s. Well, at least, if you like that sort of humor.
Maybe it's not the kind of comedy you find funny (fair enough) but it's a comedy nonetheless. So people shouldn't make the mistake of taking it too seriously.

It's only a comedy if it makes me laugh. There wasn't (for me) any laugh lines in the scene where the prostitute was killed. It seemed loud and annoyingly confused, but that didn't strike me as funny. The problem is, if you don't get the jokes, you're going to take it seriously.
I'm not averse to dark and gruesome comedies - I like movies like A Simple Plan and Blood Simple. Very Bad Things just seemed loud and frenetic.

Nice nice nice. Lots of stories about accidental killings . Most of them not morally pervers. But if you readreviews by professional film critics you will notice they hold similar opinions as the one i wrote. Admittedly it wasnt too articlate but I was reviewing utter gabage anyway.
Ive seen films with dark humor which are actually quality films. And who cares if i insult the "filmmakers"
The filmamkers are insulting the general public who they rob money from to watch this trash.
But maybe you are one of the staff , so .
Also believe me, i have seen films i find morally repugnant but am objectove enough to admit when they are well written, well acted and well directed. Its not rocket science
