Well (depending on the translation from arabic to enlish, I guess), much of the quran encourages, or at least mentions, violence AGAINST a person who is a non believer, a non muslim, an infidel. It's only natural that people would feel threatened by that.
Although I do agree with you that there is a bit of an over-saturation by the media on the violent deeds done by Islam, I still don't like it. I don't like anything abiout it, nor do I feel happy knowing that it is the fastest growing religion in the world. Religion degrades human beings. It belongs in history books, not in the minds of billions of people today.
Muslims can't be left alone because they shouldn't be. Nor should Christians, Catholics or (and I doubt anyone will mind me saying this) mormons. -

I completely disagree with u .. most part of the Quran speaks about stories of Prophets, their sacrifices to prevent their people going astray .. to guide the people to choose the right path .. that includes Adam, Noha, Jesus, Moses , Abraham, David, Muhammad (may peace be upon all) and so on.. the logic behind telling these stories, is to let the readers realize how the prophets of God made their lives committed to lead the humanity to the righteousness..!!
yes..!! there are some chapters where Allah almighty addresses to kill infidels and non-believers BUT .. there are regulations and conditions.. If it was in Quran to kill every non-believer, there would be no one left in this world but the believers.. and i would not be explaining you all about this and you would have killed by some of the "believer" long time ago
as far as "Religion degrades human beings".
you can not blame religion for your faults and failure.. no religion in the world "degrades" its followers .. it rather motivates them.. encourages them to do good deeds and to make them feel confident. there are some things which a human can not do all by himself , so he needs some sort of "miracles" to make things happen , and happen good for him.. who does that ? God does..!!
it`s actually the reward of what ever good deeds he has done for others..!!
Religion just show you the path .. its up to you that how you make it affective to go successful or ruin your life by figuring it all wrong.
Don't look at the followers to judge the religion .. !!

I did not mean that religion degrades its followers. I meant that the followers of religions degrade the human race as a whole. The fact that people are so easily convinced of something as stupid as islam or christianity is really sad. Especially in this day and age.
And, since you brought it up, what things could humans not have done on our own without miracles? Name some of these miracles. -

Muslims are hypocrites. In Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain and other such places, I have seen Mohammedans in the long white flowing garb drinking pints of beer and hard alcohol cocktails, and drooling over Eastern European women dressed in minskirts singing awful 80s and 90s pop tunes in bands, again with no Arabs playing the instruments. The table service was from Filipino or Thai women and girls, also in tight skirts and shirts. No Arab women were to be seen. They were all at home, or if they were in the street, they were hidden in the black garb with a slit for eyesight. Granted, some had the face open. Mohammedans are the biggest hypocrites of all the religions.
Europe is waking up, albeit very slowly. Every country has a Party which realizes what you people intend. Slowly, but surely, we are waking up, and you will experience another "Reconquestra" as in 1492.
USA may be another thing. In USA, Mohammedans are car mechanics and 24 hour milk store merchants. Western people purchase beer from these Mohammedans at 2am and they laugh at us. Well, in USA it is one thing, but the movement has started in Europe. -

drinking alcohol is widely not accepted in Arab counties even among Arab Christians..and yes it's forbidden in Islam but people of all religions don't follow their religious teachings literally.. don't tell me you, yourself, are a true Christian or what ever your faith is!

I also find the arguments about how Islam cherishes women is absurd as well. I guess it all depends on the definition of cherish. Cherished as a possession or cherished as in saving them from their own base instincts to degrade themselves. Cherished as in rape victims who are "honor" killed by their own family's! It's beyond ridiculous. I've never come across so many boys in men's bodies as Middle Eastern men. My Middle Eastern landlord had no problems insulting my Mother who had come to help extricate from a lease as I was living in what was a crack infested, drug building. I didn't want to get arrested and have more problems with my lease so I didn't come around his desk and knock him out. This was not the only instance I have had of a Middle Eastern male getting overly aggressive and emotional when trying to resolve an issue. They've built up an entire culture to serve their whim's and desires and cloak it all in B.S. religious righteousness.
I will say though that mob mentality is not a religious thing. It's a human thing. Just watch any riot at a soccer match.
I also think the U.S has done it's fair share of heinous crap under the veil of foreign relations and spreading democracy. Or should I say controlling resources. I also believe the until the U.S. gets off it's own righteous high horse about our actions around the world maybe we can start some honest attempts at finding more middle ground.
But I don't believe that the Islam is just about peace and forgiveness. I believe it has a doctrine of conversion and is proven again and again to be prone to violence and hysteria. If Muslim's so believed in peace and abhorred violence why do they never expose or halt their own criminal/terrorist elements? A press release does not count as action. They hide, at will, among the people. If Muslim's policed themselves with anything approaching their supposed beliefs the U.S. and other western countries wouldn't have a leg to stand on in the international community to police and militarize Muslim territory. -

In Egypt, 'Islamist' groups such as the Muslim Brotherhood are banned and torrorism is being fought - the extremists are bombing and killing Egyptian soldiers and police. It was a near thing that Egypt was falling into an Islamist regimethey were slowly implementing Sharia in its extreme- banning opera, ballet, even suggesting covering up the Pyramids and ancient Egyptian statues ('idolatry')! The
people rejected it. It's maybe a 'military' leadership now, but way a better option than a theocracy (like Iran , but Sunni)- the Brotherhood wanted to form a
caliphate- sound familiar? -

millions of moslems flooding our world here in europe. the muslims dont let us allone. they invade the western world and living on our expenses and sucking us dry. it is just a matter of time until there will be a clash. you are right that america should not interfere in the middle east. america should let theese people allone. but america and europe should fight theese people here. just a matter of time my friend. i dont have a problem with moslems in their own countries. but they dont stay there. the wage war into the western world. so there will be war someday. i dont know who will stay left. but i would fight to death to bee free and against the invasion.
