Please educate me Am I crazy to think you can shoot someone at close range with a shotgun in a tub and NOT get killed by riccochets?

Shotgun pellets don't have enough velocity/mass to ricochet. They would likely put holes in the tub or the tile behind it.

If it was a plastic or composite tub, probably not. However, if it was a metal tub, and the shot was steel or copper coated, I sure as Hell wouldn't use it.

Also depends what kind of shot load they were using? If it were 00 Buckshot, it would likely destroy the tub, while causing permanent hearing damage for the shooter. If it were bird shot #6, theres a distinct possibility of some blowback from the much smaller pellets..while causing permanent hearing damage. Would have been easier just to take him to the backyard. Don't think the neighbours would have made a fuss?
