No, the accidental shooting was in season 6 premiere.
In season 1, Livia and Junior conspired to have Tony killed for talking to a therapist, for arranging meets with the other captains at Green-grove retirement home behind Junior’s back, and for putting Livia in the retirement home.
Junior hires Boyz II Men to shoot Tony but Tony survived
[
Tony then kills Junior’s crewmembers who organized the hit, and absorbs the rest of his crew. This was part of the civil war between Tony and Junior in season 1 while fighting for the boss position.

In real life he would get it taken care of through a medical Dr.
That is, if a mobster had panic attacks at all which I doubt.
They are human but I think the boss of crime families are psychopaths who have no sympathy or a sensitive conscious over what they do.

Technically Melfi is a medical doctor. She’s a licensed psychiatrist who prescribes him medication for the panic attacks.

What part of, "A mobster would be dead with his shrink," do you not get?
Plus seeing a shrink would be seen as a sign of weakness in that kind of group.
Makes for good TV to others.
(While I find those scenes to be boring and dumb and does not reflect what goes on in therapy.)
But IRL, no way would a mobster see a psych.
He would get his problems taken care of through a med. Dr. in a clinic or hospital.
Not in a psych. office.

Yeah and that’s in the show, which is why Tony tried to hide it

of, "A mobster would be dead with his shrink,"
I just ****ing told you they tried to kill him for it, he survived and killed the people who tried to kill him..
as a sign of weakness in that kind of group.
Yes, everyone who works for Tony basically hates him. And they think he’s crazy for seeing a shrink. Tony ends up killing a guy who spreads rumours about that in season 2
Dr. in a clinic or hospital
He would still be undergoing a psychiatric evaluation to be diagnosed and then prescribed a treatment plan of therapy in addition to medication, otherwise it wouldn’t work and he’d still be having panic attacks.

It is all just a fake TV show where I think IRL they would have gotten the job done.
Of course they have Tony survive because without him there would be no show.
I have to go with what the ex mobster says since he was in the life.

The most unrealistic things about this show are how much money they make and the way they go around acting like it’s still the 1970s with big lavish dinner-parties, and how Tony is never caught by the IRS for living in a McMansion despite having unreported income. The better parts of the show are them just being behind the strip club/pork store and organizing scams, illegal imports, trafficking and financial fraud to fund their activities, which is how the mob operates today.

Good points and I agree.
I also wonder if mobs really do that much murdering.
They might, in say, like through the decades of being in business but this much at once in the time span a few episodes or a season covers?
And how much murdering does the big boss or the head of the family actually do himself?
He might murder a couple of guys to make his bones but once as boss I doubt he gets the blood on his hands since he has soldiers or hit men to do it for him so he cannot be connected to it.
And where are the police?
Again, it is all just to make for entertainment on TV.
The better parts of the show are them just being behind the strip club/pork store
Why the need for two places to discuss business.
Any thoughts on that?
