Make of it what you will, but after seeing this film years ago, I thought to myself,
"Wow, this was a really good indie movie and I'm amazed and happy for the film industry that this guy was given the money to make it. I hope he keeps getting money to make more personal visions like this. But I'm never watching anything he does again." -

Nope, and everything I've heard about his work afterwards confirms I made the right choice for my own personal comfort. Still very happy for him having a career, though.
It's a matter of what kind of "cringe cinema" one likes. A lot of folks find watching David Cronenberg movies very difficult, but he's my favorite director of all time.

unsettling, but that was intended by the director, obviously. pedophilia when treated in a film isn't supposed to be funny and yet, i'm sure people were amused by the obscenity of it. i wasn't. this dad was suspicious since the first take and the reveal was not really surprising. he is a creepy dipshit, and the reveal was only confirming what i was feeling about that dude from the beginning.


it was. i'm glad i watched it. 8/10
