I can't even bring myself to watch the non anamorphic DVD. It looks terrible on a modern TV. I fail to understand why a reissue of this hasn't come out. At least in anamorphic on DVD, but a Blu-Ray is long over due.

I'd even settle for an HD digital version on Ultraviolet or Amazon, anythng that upgrades this to an HD image.
It's on Vudu, but it's for rental only and is in standard definition pan & scan. TERRIBLE.
Why won't someone show this movie some love? -

When Criterion released Life During Wartime, I was hoping they were striking a relationship with Todd Solondz like they did with Wes Anderson. They have put out all of Wes' movies on Blu-Ray and it looked like for a minute maybe they would go back and re-release the Todd Solondz catalog on Blu-Ray. Sadly, it seems that will never transpire.
I don't know why his earlier movies get more love. They are on formats that only looked good 15-20 years ago. Happiness only looks good on an old tube TV.
