This Gundam series was really good when I first saw it on Toonami. I later decided to buy the series and i am equally impressed. I have all of them except for vol. 3, but I was wondering if I missed something in vol. 4 because towards the begining of the second episode on that disc, Ginias Sahalin has blood coming out of his mouth. Was he hurt or something, did I miss this somewhere, or is something wrong with my disc? Someone please tell me what happened here.

I believe that in the second episode, you first hear Aina reminding her brother to take his medicine. This continues throughout the series. Heck, even the watch Aina gave Shiro is set to go off at the time that Ginias is to take his medicine.
Anyway, from what I understand, Ginias has been ill since childhood (thus explaining Aina's flashback in episode 7). As for a specific illness, it is never mentioned. I can only speculate that it is a respiratory illness.
