            I'm not that God fearing but it would have taken a higher providence to survive what Hanks went through, if anything. The important thing is the lessons he learned through all his trials.

              The idea that someone wouldn't even contemplate about the presence of God or at the very least a Higher Power at work in making his survival possible and leading him down this path that at movie's end seems to culminate with him being led to a new woman in his life, is something that defies all sense of dramatic credibility with me.
