That's a very accurate observation.
The circle represents
eternity
because it has no beginning and no end. That's why the classic watches are round.

  You can conclude he changed his opinion/life-style about his role on the planet, because he turned his back on the clock. He stooped thinking so much about the future and what he can bring, because he can't controle it. That's why the movie ended with him pursuing his present-future and not working be ruled by the time.
  If you ask old people what is the biggest change they saw since they were young, they will tell you people nowadays are always in a hurry to go somewhere, and the consumerism. What is this movie about?

Agree. There was a lot of circular camera movement too. It's the great lesson Chuck learned- that no matter how much you struggle against, or try to overcome time, you always end up in the present, with yourself.
