Dude, this really show's how much you know about being cool. In Hollywood, there have always been 4 actors who have always been the personification of cool.
- John Wayne
- Dennis Hopper
- Jack Nicholson
- Samuel L Jackson
To some extent also Al Pacino and Robert De Niro, but their cool has always come from their demanding pressanse and the fact that they are beep mobsters.

You forgot Humphrey Bogart, he was the pinnacle of cool.

The problem with what you're saying is you're comparing Richard Roundtree's portrayal of John Shaft to Sam Jackon's portrayal of John Shaft. This is wrong because they are not playing the same John Shaft. Sam is playing the other John Shaft's nephew. Completely different characters. Sam didn't need to act the same as Richard Roundtree did.

samuel l is the least coolest black actor today in my opinion. he is so overated and overused the i gives blacks like me a bad name. denzel in td was cool, but denzel in inside man and deja vu was completely bad a$$. so before you go dissing on denzel, i suggest you watch some of his movies, nutzach.

Sam Jackson stays cool whatever the sitation, cafe heist, snakes on a plane, vigelantes wanting money to free prsoner, he's just awesomeness epitamised, and he knows it, that's what's fun, he's cool, and a satire of cool.
If you wished "The Sound of Music" was really called "Snakes on a Plane" You'll love this film! -

No,no no no. The star of the Blade series is COOL.That's who is black and cool.
Wesley Snipes. Now there is cool.He was even cool in the Snipes / Stallone joy joy Demolition Man.
Wesley Snipes is a thousand times cooler than Samuel Jackson.
Snipes MOVES cool. You don't have that in SJ. SJ moves like a crippled duck.
Scorecard:
Snipes = super cool- smooth, tough, smart, cool with abandon, great lines come naturally with a slick delivery and confidence - you KNOW the job is already done.
Jackson = foul mouthed, tries to hard, crippled stick, (has some good lines) but lines delivered with anger and bulging eyes and not very convincing at all. More like a punk piece of crap, than someone who actually means it - delivery depends on the movie and set and special effects
