Why is there no white Shaft?

This character has been around for 30 years, but not once has the role been portrayed by a white actor. It is time that Shaft is played by a white person, or else it is racism.

Had the studio had their way either Frank Sinatra or Robert Redford would have been cast as "Shaft". If Gordon Parks, who wrote the script, hadn't insisted on Richard Roundtree there would have been a white Shaft.
