They live in a rich area and they probably had connections plus it was a coalition of people not just one against some poor nerdy disabled girl. I can take out a list of rich mfs that've gotten away with it. Bill Cosby for starters.

Hardly a rich area. A well to do area, but not all that rich. And there weren't any legal connections established for the characters. The fact that it was so many against one disabled girl would just add even more evidence against them.
I can also make out a list of rich people that didn't get away with it. Gary Glitter for starters.
So many stories, so little time. -
bigbadwolf666 — 4 years ago(August 02, 2021 05:50 PM)
Rich compared to the rest of the world. The fact that so many parties were involved went against one single girl nobody gave a **** about.
Legal perhaps not but in a small community there is always connections.
The rich that got away with against the poor the that didnt far out weights it.

Still not that rich. It's just a working class neighborhood. Tom was a phone repairman. And he even stopped going to work, yet they could still afford to live there. It's not that expensive of a neighborhood. All those parities is why a judge would easily side with the disabled girl whose family did care about.
Fortunately, those connections won't matter to the legal system.
The rich that got away with against the poor the that didnt far out weights it.
That's not what this is about. The fact is, even the rich, which none of these characters were, do also get busted and go to prison.
So many stories, so little time. -
bigbadwolf666 — 4 years ago(August 02, 2021 06:21 PM)
working class doesnt mean they dont have tons of backups. Tom might've been on the lower side plus he had the support of his wife.
I'd like to meet that judge your talking about. They all side with the dollars.
connections is the legal system.
Once in awhile isnt a consistent statics. If you believe the justice system isnt tilted for the rich you're living in the twilight zone.

Support is fine, but that's not the same as being rich enough to game the system. That's not a luxurious neighborhood.
No, all judges do not side with the dollars. That's why a lot of rich celebrities end up in prison, despite their money.
If you believe rich people don't get theirs too, then that's a different fantasy. As all the rich people in prison prove.
Plus, "once in a while" actually does constitute a consistent statistic. Blue moons are once in a while, but they're consistent. El Nino is once every four years, but that's consistent.

but the local counselor might not need millions to look the other way. He could have a family member or something connected as well.
you mean few. You need to get arrested more often to see how the rules are bended for the dollars.
Some rich people but again not only do they have the power to get off easy, they can always appeal, and reappeal and serve light sentences and serve in luxury hotels too. I think you should study law.
Consistently inconsistent.

But there's not just one local counselor. And the DA is answerable to the entire community, not just one family. And if he does have a family member, that'd constitute a conflict of interest.
It's actually a lot. Bended does not mean broken. Which is why a lot of rich celebrities end up in prison.
They can, but they still end up in prison. It's not like in the movies where they can just walk. They don't all get to go to a luxury hotel. Especially if they're not rich like the characters in the movie weren't. I think you should also study law because no law school will tell you that rich people aren't accountable to the law.
Consistently inconsistent by its very nature signifies consistency.

Ooh yea cause the government knows everything and everybody. Even if he wasnt a direct relative he could be friends with a family member and that's all that matters. With so many members involved they'd run out of DA's.
They end up in prison and get off easy and usually for big things while low timers go for small things and their lives are over.
No it's worst because many times in the movies the bad guy gets it somehow in the end but in real life they're all bad and they wall walk. You havent seen some of the prisons some of these go to. To them Prison is holding and they have a lot of leeway like visits, time to go out, a lot of luxuries like food, entertainment a lot better than anybodies life.
That's why you should study it. To find out what really goes on behind the law.
A constancy that the law is inconsistent.

Not at all. They live in Chicago. That's a huge urban area.
They end up in prison and get off easy and usually for big things
Not at all as evidenced by guys like Gary Glitter and Phil Spector.
No it's worst because many times in the movies the bad guy gets it somehow in the end
Yep, so in the movie, the kids would definitely end up in prison. Glad that's settled.
You havent seen some of the prisons some of these go to. To them Prison is holding and they have a lot of leeway like visits, time to go out, a lot of luxuries like food, entertainment a lot better than anybodies life.
Not really. The nicest prison is still a prison. And food is actually a right, not a luxury. All prisoners get fed.
That's why you should study it. To find out what really goes on behind the law.
Not at all. As I said, no law school teaches rich people are above the law. That's a quick way to have that school discredited immediately.
A constancy that the law is inconsistent.
And yet, rich people still end up in jail. Bernie Madoff was a billionaire. And still ended up behind bars.

hahahaha. Chicago is one of the most corrupt!
I think Spector beat the rap and then they got him over a bum charge.
IN THE MOVIE.
You really think the rich go to and eat at the same prisons as the low lifes?
Hmm… so you go by schools and by laws. Interesting…
Yea with entire dna set for life. What a jail sentence.

They still got him.

Very good. That's exactly what I was talking about when I said, "She died during the committing of a felony (attempted rape), which is considered a capital offense. They could get a life sentence either way."
The movie.
Yep. Just ask Phil Spector and Gary Glitter.
Yes, I go by where people go to actually study law.
Madoff died in prison. So yeah, it was quite a sentence.

yea when he was old and senile and by then it really didnt matter. It was actually quite sad.
your studying the wrong books.

Yep. That's how long he was locked away, so it definitely mattered. That's why even up until the end his lawyers were trying to get him transferred out. They failed. What was sad was all the people he ripped off.
Incorrect. Those are the right books. That's why they're accredited and peer reviewed.

Naw cuz he was at the end of his time and he literally stole Billions stashed away somewhere. Who wouldnt?? Most people work to old age for a lousy retirement they have nothing to show for. He mightve not won with his lawyers but but that is just one minor incident compared to the many. Naw, stupid gullible people.
So it must be right, right? How come Michael Jackson got aquitted though there was massive amounts of evidence? Why did Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman walk unscratched with piles of massive evidence?

Even billionaires do their time. No one is above the law. Madoff proves money does not buy justice as much as people believe.
Yes, they are right. That's why they're peer reviewed and accredited.
Same reason Gary Glitter got put away. Or Bernie Madoff. Or Phil Spector. Heck, even OJ eventually got his. Al Capone was rich and connected. And he died in prison also.

your wrong here. The problem with Madoff was that he ripped off even the elite( the wrong people) but again I dont find it a sentence since he's entire gene pool is going to be well off.
OJ got his for another cheap crime and not his original and you saying getting his was for doing 8years?
Because the Mob didnt want him anymore.

Not at all. I'm right. A billionaire went to and died in prison. Justice.
OJ still got his. 8 years is far worse than 0 years to spend in prison.
And all his money didn't help.

Again, a small fraction of crooks just like Capone. For every Capone there is a million mobsters walking free doing crime.
But the Billionaires family is well off.
8 years for another crime. Had he not done it he would've been free. 8 years for murder is justice? He did 9 and is a free man now.
The money definitely helps had they had none they would've gotten far worst treatment and sentence.
