I saw this movie when it was initially released in the fall of '99. One of the neighbors in the movie drives a (then) new silver Mercury Cougar, and the camera pans by it several times. It was that new age body style with sloping lines that was becoming popular near the new millennium, much like the Toyota Celica. I remember thinking "wow, what a beautiful car!" and ended up buying one the same color about a month later lol.
