I'm not suprised Candyman goes around killing people to be honest. After what was done to Robetaiile (spelling?) I can't blame him for being pissed Who agrees?

Yeah, I know it was bad what they did to him, and yes he should kill the people who did that to him, but not people that aren't even involved in it and who simply are innocent even if there ancestors did, It's not there fault, that is just the way things where back in that time, black's where nobodies

Oh yeah this is just the way things were..so I'll just go kill someone black you know if people thought like that we would still have Jim Crow lawsnow I do agree with you that him killing innocent people is wrong.

I agree and this is Candyman's fatal flaw.
A revenge should be justifyed in order to be "beleiveable". Candyman just kills people cos he's pissed off about something that happened years ago and he kills people not connected to his demise.
Where as (by ways of a for instance) Freddy Krueger extracts he vengence on those that killed him directly (at least in the first film anyway).
I liked Candymanwell the first film awayway the sequels were terrible.
But it always bothered me that he killed random people for no good reason.
The WHOLE reason of having the backstory is to add justification to his revengeyet it means nothing if he's just killing random people. The character would probably have worked better without the reason and backstory.
It's disapointing really as Clive is a MUCH better writer then this. Look at another of his creations, "Lead Cenobite" from Hellraiser. This is a character that worked better when we knew little about him, it's within the sequels where it's revealed who/what he was when the character becomes uninteresting.
Jesus died for our sins. As he's already deadsin away.
