Yeah, even the Supreme Court decided that "separate but equal" wasn't a thing over 70 years ago.
I suppose a more innocuous reading would be if we're comparing two people in separate fields. LeBron James is an amazing basketball player, but probably couldn't sell out arenas worldwide for people to hear him sing songs he's written. And, likewise, I doubt that Taylor Swift will ever be winning a WNBA title.
