What does it mean to be the best movie? I would define that it as being of the most value to you. I think that doesn't limit it to following the criteria of needing to be thought provoking, the best storyline, the best acting, or best cinematography.
Gladiator to me is the best movie for many of the same reasons others like it. It provides value to me because it makes me feel really good, emotional, and in touch with my life and soul. The music is exquisite, the storyline is beautiful and inspiring, the acting, directing, and cinematography is masterful. It makes me feel so good, and ultimately that's what I care about so I consider it my favorite movie. -

Jesus, watch more movies, this is by no means even close to being the best movie ever, it's basically a remake of Ben-Hur made by someone who hasnt seen Ben-Hur.
i still like the film but it's crazy to say that this is the best movie ever made.
Like the other guy said, The Wizard of Oz is 10x better in every way
