I saw the first one but none of the sequels. But i just heard that this one answers that question from the first one "Who or what is He Who Walks Behind The Rows?"
I Don't want to know the answer straight up to the question but simply does the movie answer the question?

Hes not The Devil although The Christian Characters(who,by The Way,are portrayed as just as nutty & creepy as The Kids)think he is.Hes actually The Vengeful Spirit of Josiah,The Original Boy Preacher(This is revealed on The Directors Commentary for The 4th Films DVD Release).

Yeah & interestingly enough , Gabriel was the first & only vessel for The Corn God who actually had a sense of humor . The only other leader with a sense of humor was Eli(who was not actually possessed by " He Who Walks Behind The Rows " , he was more of a " science project " , if you will on The Deity`s part , an ageless demon in human form) .
