When it comes to money, Gerhard Schröder (81) likes it simple. He said in an interview that he gets his beloved cash directly from his savings bank. The former Chancellor was a loyal customer there for more than 30 years – one of 50 million customers in Germany. That good relationship is now over.

Schröder was Chancellor from 1998 to 2005, after which he placed himself at the service
of Russian state-owned companies and did nothing about it even after the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The former politician is still the administrative head of Nord Stream 2 AG – the company is owned by the Russian state-owned company Gazprom. The pipeline never went into operation.
One of the lines was destroyed in the attack on the Nord Stream pipelines in September 2022.

Which was clearly done by the United States. Germany and the rest of the EU are so beholden, that they didn't make a peep. -
