At what point should this be considered attempted murder?
After a night of drinking, Corbie Jean Walpole set her longtime friend Jake Loader on fire after he allegedly made a misogynistic comment to her
Loader suffered third-degree burns to over half his body
The Judge called Walpole's crime "unprovoked and violent" and she was sentenced to 7-and-a-half years in prison
An Australian woman has been sentenced to 7-and-a-half years in prison for setting her friend on fire following a night of heavy partying — after he allegedly said a misogynistic comment to her.
Corbie Jean Walpole poured gasoline on Jake Loader, who was 23 at the time, and set him ablaze as they were drinking in her backyard on Jan. 7, 2024, according to Australia Broadcasting Corporation.
Walpole pleaded guilty to one charge of burning or maiming by using corrosive fluid, the outlet reported.
On the day of the party, Walpole and Loader, who had been friends for nine years, had been drinking for 12 hours, ABC reported. Walpole consumed between 23 and 35 drinks and cocaine during the party.

Lmao I knew I liked you for a reason but for real though this escalated so quickly like omg he shouldn’t have egged her on like that but she still shouldn’t have done what she did either of course
The situation escalated when Jake Loader made a sexist comment, telling Corbie Jean Walpole she should "stay in the kitchen making scones" if she couldn't handle drinking with the men. This remark enraged the 24-year-old, who then grabbed a gallon of gasoline from the garage and poured it on Loader. She reportedly waved a lighter at him threateningly, with Loader taunting her, saying, "Go on, do it." Walpole was under the influence of alcohol and cocaine at the time. -

She should be let off with a warning. She wasn’t herself, being under the influence of alcohol and victim. Bastard probably egged her on for a long time.

I think he was severely burned though unfortunately. I would never ever do something like this to anyone and I would feel terrible and never forgive myself. I would have just left and tried to calm myself down before doing anything stupid. There were a lot of things said and done that shouldn’t have happened

Nothing good every comes from drunkenness. Well, most of the time. I did shoot down a "UFO" once when I was drunk, then stumbled to bed and passed out with a feeling of pride that I had saved humanity from an alien invasion. Of course, I had to buy my friend a new drone the next day

I read about an incident in Netherlands, at least I think it was Netherlands. A woman did not take a break up well so she snuck in while he was asleep and poured acid on him. It screwed him up so bad that he eventually went to Dignitas or whatever it was before Dignitas ( the legal suicide place in Switzerland )
So because he killed himself she was not charged with his death, she only got a less than 10 year sentence. F uck that, she should have gotten life.
A guy in England paid someone to throw acid in the face of his ex lover, melted most of it off, HE got life and he didnt even do it. What is this 7 and half year ****? Put her inside for life man.
