Come on people, this is a great film in a way it never intended. This film has become an unintentional comedy. Despite the pure awfullness, this is one of my favorite films to watch, especially if you are stoned!
-While you were still learning how to SPELL your name, I was being trained to conquer galaxies!

It's not unintentional, there is humor written into it, but it's natural humor, as in the audience laughs at how the characters are doing something humorous which is entirely within the bounds of their culture.
Haha, that quote, the thing is, they probably were trained to conquer galaxies - Terl went to the 'Academy' where he probably learnt all about it, and it's actually more or less what they do or rather they just go out looking for likely worlds to mine.

The only good thing about this movie is that it introduced me to the book which I love a thousand times more than this.
