I'll take you up on that question, as I am myself wondering if i should start watching it. The few episodes I've seen so far don't cut it for me. I was interested in the Browder-Black duo i liked in SG-1, but I'm really wondering whether this show is worth my time. I loved both SG 1 and Atlantis, Firefly, Voyager, didn't care much for Deep Space 9 (although it had its moments and seasons, but i'm not rewatching it to death like i do with voyager or both stargates), and loved BSG. I"d say my all time favorite is Stargate.

Yes it is; as mentioned before me it might not be for everybody but if it clicks with you, you are in for one hell of a ride.

Farscape and Firefly are very similar in that they're both driven by the characters rather than the stories. Farscape is certainly more inconsistent in its writing, but the arcs themselves are far more epic (as is the general tone of the show as it goes on) due to the length.
I'd recommend giving it a try, but it's far more sci-fi than Firefly and much less grounded. It's definitely a show that got better as it went on. -

I'm currently watching this show for the first time, I'm about 3/4 of the way through season 1. It seems like a very cheesy show, cheaply made, with recycled sets but. I just can't stop watching it! I simply do not not know why. I mean, I loved the idea of a contained universe, much like DS9, where most of the action took place on the station, maybe this is why I'm comfortable with this show. Also, I just love the music, absolutely the best facet of this show.
Well, I'm off to watch another episode. Must be a good show because I've got a warm buzz knowing I've still got three more seasons AND two movies to go.

Near the end of season 1 is when the characters, plotz, and production values all come into their own, along with a much darker tone. And it involves the arrival of a certain villain.

Absolutely, fantastic show that ended too soon. Wouldn't want to spoil any of it but suffice to say it's up there as one of the best sci-fi shows of all timefor me anywayand one of the best villains too. It's a treat and any sci-fi fan owes it to themselves to watch it!!

Can you believe I never seen firefly? I have them and have watched part of an episode. It seemed too western for my taste. One of these days I will finish watching it.
I loved farscape. There is nothing deep in it and you can just enjoy the show for what it is. Almost like stargate atlantis. Another show stargate universe is more contained but I found it was tiring. Just like I enjoyed star trek enterprise more than star trek any other.

Yes, it is absolutely worth watching.
Just be aware that season 1 is a little slow, but the show really picks up from season 2 onwards. For season 1 just grit your teeth and get through it. It is essential to watch season 1 in order to understand what is going on in the rest of the show. Season 1 is not bad, it's just a little on the generic side. Seasons 2, 3 and 4 are all very good. -

Farscape reminds me a lot of Lexx. One could say it is almost a blatant rip-off. I like Lexx, so it is natural that I also like farscape.
I tried some Sci-Fi series recently. I watched a couple of episodes of different shows to see what sticks with me. Star Trek TNG, Firefly, Battlestar Galactica and Farscape. I like them all more or less (except BG) - but for some reason I watched Farscape the most so far. Firefly is good, but Farscape has something special. I think it has more interesting and diverse characters - and its the funniest. I am happy to have 4 seasons plus movies ahead of me.
