I'm with 'VlsraWratS' (sorry if I got the UN wrong) on this one: 'Farscape' can be hard work when you first come into it (I only watched it on a regular basis because my ex was obsessed with it) BUT- it's deffo worth the time invested.
I found it to be funny, colourful, bonkers and just plain old eccentric!
Good luck- it reminds me of the 'Buffy' series: took me a while to get into but I fell in love with it despite myself. -

I would definitely give this another chance. You don't seem to have watched it correctly. Generally, it's the exact opposite of those things. Just might be the funnest and most hilarious scifi series of all time.

Vampires, depression, dystopian, sadness, dark, dirty, grimy, slow paced
Are you sure you weren't watching CW?
Like others have replied I also had a hard time learning to like this show, and even now I don't consider it the greatest science fiction ever put on the screen. It's just difficult to fit your words to Farscape. Some of the words fit some parts of some episodes, but overall the series seems to be almost the opposite.
Maybe we both caught part of a single episode that turned us away from the show. It's the reason I took so long to give the series a try and then when I got to the part I'd watched before, it wasn't as bad as it seemed. -

I like the show but I certainly agree that it is depressing and creepy a lot of the times. The characters are pretty inconsistent and they act very weirdly a lot of times. And I'm not even talking about the obvious alien aspect of it. When I'm not in the right mood to watch it, it does disturb me. So I get what the OP is saying.

I think what the OP means is that it doesn't cater to Millennials as in there is no stock characters, no stock plot lines, no stock dialogue, and not 100% reliant on CGI.
They tend to reject shows that aren't exactly like the show they saw just the night before.

well if you only watched the first season, hen slow paced maybe makes sense but try watching the rest of the show, it really is fantastic. And the dark part.. well, it was aired on Sci Fi channel, not Disney channel. It's not the Gilmoure Girls in Space.
What I especially like here is that despite the dark undertones (I find them to contribute to the realistic feeling of the show, although it is set in outer space) there is so much fun and good sense of humour displayed here that I laughed numerous times, sometimes even days after watching an episode.
