Who else thinks Guardians of the Galaxy might feel like FarScape?

C'monyou've got a crew of weird alien misfits that includes a fish-out-of-water southern-fried astronaut from the 20th century, a living plant, and a two-foot tall animal?
Yes, I know the comic books go all the way back to the 60s, and I'm not saying that FarScape didn't borrow its share of ideas from other sci fi works. But wouldn't it be cool to have some sort of cursory nod to the show in the movie?
You don't get to be the supermarket king of Minnesota without making a few enemies. -

Yeah! I'm just starting to watch Farscape, and it definitely seems to have a similar tone. But there also seems to be a bit of Firefly and The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, as well!
People who insult others for merely liking, or not liking, a film need to get laid. -

I had this exact same thought when seeing the trailers for Guardians of the Galaxy. I even remarked as much to a few of my friends/family.
The Guardians team from the movie is not the original 60s version. The version this movie is based off was created in the late 2000s -

I think Starlord has a quote in one of the trailers like "I come from a planet of outlawsJesse JamesBilly the Kidand John Stamos!" It immediately struck me as a very Crichton thing to say.
Guess I'll have to compare the two when I see the film now!
