Number 1: This movie had a good R-Rating reason.
Number 2: Why do you care?
Number 3: It's a human body. I've seen worse on the news.

Naw, I gotta agree with the guy. This movie really isn't nearly violent enough and there's not enough profanity for an R rating. I guess the nudity passes, but still. I think there would've been a wider audience had it been PG-13.

I don't get the whole "profanity" thing. How is saying a word bad. If I say the F word, daes that mean I'm going to go rape or kill someone? Is a word really that bad. And the nudity thing I don't get either, it's just a body. They're going to see one eventually.

Yeah I think it's ridiculous to make such a big deal about young kids seeing movies like "the whole nine yards" I was watching freddy kruger when i was six! I think if the parents do their job and teach their kids what the difference between reality and fantasy, there will not be a problem. When I have a child, I'm not gonna care what he or she is watching because he or she will be smart and know the difference between reality and fantasy. And come on, the "F" word - they would just hear it somewhere else! It's just a word

In Spain we don't give a s*** either about ratings. I think it's stupid, i've watched tons of movies i shouldn't have seen since i was a little girl and almost everyone here and there's no problem with it. Sometimes being too protective of something is worse. I've lived in the USA for one year now and i think they should focus on more important things. But hey that's just my opinion.

I think this movie would be OK with PG-13.
                    I don't know.

Pornography is a highly addictive medium.
It starts out with just little things.
And as a person gets more and more desensitized,
And it can grow into extremly perverse and grotesque things.
Does it cause rapes? Probably not in most cases
Does it cause maritial problems? Very highly likely
Does it cause men to treat womens as sexual objects instead of people? Yes
We can argue all day long about nudity and moral principlesbut the reality is, that sex sells..and as long as people keep buying movie tickets, DVDS, and online stuffhollywood is going to keep cranking it out..
Sooner or later, the moral values in the U.S. will decay to the point of the european and asian nations..
Do you want other people to see your son or your daughter without their clothes?
                      I smell a double-standard

Couldnt have agreed with you more. Except for that if they had the nude scene in the movie just to get more money, how come it wasnt in the trailers?
And is was like two seconds anyway, with the "holy part" cencored by a fence or something.

I'm not saying that..I'm saying that most people don't mind looking at someone else's kids without their clothesbut how would you feel if it was your daughter or your son?

She's her own person. If that's what she wants to do, then she can rock on. I'm not exactly worried about it myself. I'd suggest you do the same. I'd rather see my (or someone else's) children naked than see them in poverty or killed by violence here or abroad. There's social comment in that as well.
And personally, I have nothing wrong with someone getting naked for a joke. It actually got me upset that Jennifer Aniston (or her handlers) ruined the nude joke in The Breakup. If you're not ready to go all out for the joke, don't do the movie. Gratuitous nudity is kind of dumb, but nudity for a joke (or if it makes sense in the drama, ex; Rain Man) is fine. And it is the least influential thing influencing this 'cultural decay' you're talking about. There are far more dangerous things in our world, like ethnocentrism and intolerance. Remember, in the hallowed 50s, there were burlesque houses, and blacks couldn't drink from the same fountains as whites. Which was the greater problem?

All of the points you made are irrelevant. You can sit in your liberal arm chair and pretend that you truly think what you won't be affected. Things change when bad things in your life really happen. Good luck to you!

What armchair? Bad things haven't happened to me? Do you even know me? The points I've made are irrelevant? What points have YOU made? Nothing. And call me liberal. It appears you don't have anything to actually respond with so now the best you can do is name calling, straw manning, and bs political labelling. Thanks alot, but you've just evicted yourself from my scope.

I apologizeI didn't mean to imply that nothing bad has ever happened to you. My point was: a person doesn't really know how they'll react in a situation until they are IN that situation. It's easy to speculate how you'd LIKE to react, when you're not in the heat of battle.

So your point is that since my daughter hasn't shown her goods, I don't know my own personal morality and can't gauge how I would react based on that? If someone cuts me off in traffic, I know how I would react to that based on knowing my personality. I don't have to wait until it happens (and it happens) to know. Sun Tzu once said, "Know thyself." Or maybe that was Ben Kenobi.
Also, since we can't judge our own reactions to 'bad' things happening, how can you judge other people's? You asked how Amanda Peet's parents feel, and assumed that they would be outraged. I wonder how you know this. I wonder how you know how you yourself would feel if it happened to you.
