Oh yeah, i've gotten the Colt Python multiple times. I received
Resident Evil
for Christmas 1996(when i was 11 years old), so id say the first time i got it and used it was in early 1997. Best gun in the game, and 2nd best weapon overall after the rocket launcher of course, though i like the using Python more so. And you can really inflict a lot of damage to those monsters with it, taking out most with just a single shot. But what else would or could you expect from a .357 magnum? Most definitely my favorite weapon in the game. As cool and good as the Colt Python is though, you do gotta think what kind of damage you could've done with a Colt Anaconda
I also really liked the Colt S.A.A. in
Resident Evil 2
. It isn't nearly as powerful as the Python(obviously because it's not a magnum), but an awesome revolver no less. And i love how you use it in the game, by continuesly pulling back on the hammer. Which greatly increases shooting speed than if you were pulling on the trigger. A very cool gun and one of the two guns that "Won the West". And even though it's an old west style pistol, i thnik the fact that it fires and reloads with blazing speed makes it better than Claire's Browning HP. I really like using it, but it's a shame only Claire can get it. I guess that's so because she can't upgrade her semi-automatic handgun like Leon can. Even though when it came to RE2 magnum wise, they went with a Desert Eagle A.E. this time around. Which is more powerful than a Colt Python.
I guess the RE makers change their tastes from Colts after RE2 though, because they started going with Smith & Wessons for a while. You had the S&W M629 Classic Magnum in RE3, S&W Magnum in REC:V, & the S&W M19 Magnum in RE: Survivor.
