Haha, I was hoping someone would mention that before I did. It didn't scare me so much , as it felt more like WTF? Most of the stuff that scared me is pretty much here already, but there's one moment that I will never forget, and it's not even a "shock" moment either. In the RE1 when you are in the labratory, there's this one hallway where there are 3 passageways. One way leads to the elevator to where you fight the tyrant at the end, one way leads to the boiler area where those purple creatures are, and if you run straight ahead there is a save room. There's also 2 zombies in this hall.
Well, one time I was playing this game when I had 4-5 friends over and they egged me on to play cuz I hadn't played the game for a while cuz it still scared me. (This game came out and I was already 12 but it still gave me mightmares for months.) So, I'm playing the game and I run in this particular hallway, straight to the save room cuz I don't wanna shoot the zombies cuz it's their maonings that scared me the most(?). So I go in the save room, but then when I come out, the zombie's FACE is right in front of the camera!! I never screamed so loud in my life, and after that I stopped playing and let my friends play. My friends got a good laugh out of that.
This was 10 years ago and I don't see any of these guys anymore, but if I ever ran into them today and we talked for a few minutes, they'd probably remember it. -

LOL i remember that part of the game. THe zombie right in front of the camera, that was pretty freaky.
I remember in nemesis when Jill goes to the clock tower, the nemesis comes. There is this room with bookshelves, he comes from the corner running and that scared the beep out of me. -

For some reason, I was shocked the first time I got attacked by a "floored" Zombie in the orginal (I mean one that's already on the floor) I thought it was a simple dead body that you could search for something, and theit suddenly got me! (It wasn't scary it's just cause I wasn't expecting it!)

I've only played RE3, RE4, and part of RE2, but here are mine:
5.) RE3 - Car Door - Towards the beginning of the game, you are walking through the streets, and you walk by a car. If you get close enough, a zombie busts the door open and grabs you, gets me every time lol
4.) RE4 - The Hedge Maze - You cross this bridge and turn around the corner to get the first piece of the MoonStone thing from this water fountain. Then, when you turn the corner to go back over the bridge, 3 of those las plagas dogs jump out of nowhere
3.) RE3 - Nemesis - Whenever you walking down the small hallway leading up to the staircase, and Nemesis busts through the window behind you. At least I think that's what happens. All I know is that I dread playing that part even though I know it's coming
2.) RE2 - The Hands - Whenever you walk down that corridor with the boarded up walls, and a bunch of zombie hands come out of the wall and grab at you. I haven't played through much of RE2, but I have played this part and it scared me the first time
1.) RE4 - Oven Man - When you are on the island, and go through the kitchen of the one building, this ganado with a gasmask busts out of the oven, completely engulfed in flames, and grabs you. I remember the first time I got to that part, I threw the controller down and died because it shocked me so bad XD

- The interigation room in RE2 that many have mentioned.
Stuff that made me feel uneasy a longer time but not actually jumping by suprise. - Running SLOOOOOW in water in the basement with sharks up your ass in RE1.
- The whole mansion part after the guardhouse in RE1.. Hunters are crazy..
- The god damn puzzle with paintings and crows!
Can't remember anything like that from RE2.

That's actually the most beep scary bit ever, when I first play it, I had to turn off my PlayStation imediatly and I seriously considered the possibility of never play this beep videogame again.

- (RE1) The zombie on the floor. First time playing it, I thought it was a dead guy (someone posted a similar story) that I could search, but then he starts biting my leg!
- (RE2) The licker crashing through the mirror. I replayed this once with a friend watching and he freaked.
- (RE2) The zombie hands popping out of the boarded windows.
- (RE1) Dogs crashing through the window in the hallway. First time I saw this was when a friend was playing through the game.
- (RE1) First appearance of the giant Snake. I froze up and turned pale.
Honorable mentions:
(RE1) Hunter appearing out from the corridor around the crushing ceiling.
(RE1) The music when you see Forrest.
(RE2) Licker crawling by the window.
(RE2) Irons' (upper half) flying out of the basement door in Claire's B game.
(RECV) Bandersnatch flying through the office window.
(RERemake) Zombie popping out of the bathroom door.
(RERemake) The crash sound when the snake appears the second time.
(RERemake) Crimson zombie gets up.
(RERemake) Lisa moaning through the locked doors under the stairs.
(RE4) Guy in the furnace on the island.
A few scares that should have scared me but were spoiled through magazines/commercials:
(RE1) Zombie popping out of the closet behind you.
(RE3) Nemesis diving through the window in the Police Station. The TV commercials showed that scene so it didn't surprise me at all when I played it.
(RE2) Mr. X punching through the wall when you get the cogwheel. The magazine walkthrough has a picture of it. However, I didn't expect Mr. X punching through the wall again when you leave.
(RE2) Licker crashing through the ceiling in B game where the 2 rubies are placed. One of the commercials showed this.
Scares that didn't work for me at all:
(RE3) Zombies randomly popping out of the cars and crows popping out of the windows. It just happens and it's not very dramatic or interesting. I guess the entire aesthetic of Raccoon city in shambles wasn't very scary. It seemed too colorful to me to be a nightmare of a city.
(RE2) Dark Licker popping out of the vent in the lab corridor.
(RECV) The giant spider in the ice. It should have creeped me out, but the graphics just weren't that great and it looked unfinished.
(RE5) What scares?

Litterally everything above sums up what scared me during my Resident Evil years since I was 15 in 1997. I'll say what scared me anyway, and I'm not going to just list 5. I like to list everything.
Resident Evil 0: Giant Spiders, Giant Frog (Lurker) and being eaten alive by it, that first Plague Crawler (centipede) dropping down after being lifted up.
Resident Evil 1 (DC): The mansion alone scared me the first time. Every room I went into back then the first time I deeply squinted because I thought something terrible was on the other side every possible time. The dogs that crash the windows in both the yellow L-Passage and in the gray passage with the pillar (advance mode). Giant spiders scared me badly into a trauma and there's a story about a bad first experience with these horrible creatures. Back then I had to use an old 1979 TV set my mother had before she got married, it was so old it had perminate bold lines on it and the higher up the screen the closer the lines were. When I went into that billard room in the Guardhouse, I saw something moving on the ceiling and because of those lines being so close together toward the top of the screen, I thought it was a ceiling fan turning. When that "fan" dropped and its stripped legs flared up, I screamed, and then a second spider dropped closer to the screen and I screamed again. I ran out, and I just couldn't take it. That is not a good way to discover something that horrible, and I don't spiders to begin with. Anyway, then there's a zombie in Chris's gameplay or any in Advance mode in the Arklay Lab and you can see its hideious face up close. Then there's that Hunter in the blue-green F-Shape hallway that jumps out from around the corner. It's not as bad from the silver Tea Passage but from the other side from the gray collumn passage when it jumps into the air swipping its claw screaching. The first time I saw the giant spider in the Tea Passage instead of a hunter in Advance mode. I got scared again when that Hunter jumped around the corner near the bathroom door. I always thought that passage was always clear. In the Guardhouse basement when that blue Jaws jumped out of the water and devoured me. The Yawn Snake didn't scare me that badly, but enough to where I battle it near the enterance door. Those dogs in the courtyard that run from around corners. I was feeling suspensed when draining the dirty water in the Room 001 bathroom because I thought there was going to be a dead body there. I like the soundtrack of the pre-duel shock version, but some of those songs are haunting, like the Mansion Basement "Close And Narrow." There was that one zombie in the kitchen by the elevator I almost missed. Sometimes the Chimeras bug me no pun intended. Holy crap, I didn't know until I typed it out that Resident Evil 1 scared me this badly, and yet it's my favorite of all of them, and I dream of building and living in that mansion if I ever win the lottery. I would make the mansion more plesant looking.
Resident Evil Remake: Zombies burst through doors even if I expect it by the doorknobs jiggling. The spiders in the basement, but not the Guardhouse's billard room. I didn't like it when a crimson head sneaks up on me from behind when I didn't know it was time for them to rise again. The sharks were scarier in this one than in the orignal. They were more Jaws-like. The zombie taking a bath didn't scare me because I saw a short clip of it online, but I did like Jill getting a return on her lunch in the toilet. The hunter's screaching is just as bad as in the original.
Resident Evil 2: Giant spiders in the sewers. I didn't know at first what that first one was in the Leon game was until I recalled the first game, then I waited until it was on the ceiling so I can pass it up, and not knowing there was a second one. This was my reason for getting strategy guides for ever Resident Evil game. I DO NOT like these 8-legged creepy crawlers and I don't want to keep turning my undershorts into a fudge factory. There was the times the Licker crashed the one-way mirror in both scenarios, the one what dropped from the sky light in the ruby room. There was those zombies that grabbed you in the green passage in the A scenario, and then those same zombies crashed the window in the B scenario. Mr. X bursting through the wall scared me too many times. Mr. X again in the third story lobby balcony. The alligator in the sewer was a problem for me too. Being wipped by the Ivy plants when think they're dead. That licker in the lower lab level that dropped from the air duct. I didn't like that moth. There's the Extreme Battle Mode where I didn't know what monsters were in each room. Again I dread spiders and not knowing which rooms had them. Also there was Chief Irons shooting up from the trap door on the floor of his taxidermy room.
Resident Evil 3: The zombie jumping out of the car door before the mechanic's save room. Nemesis didn't scare me in
