I attended Dartmouth College (Hanover, New Hampshire) where there was a rich and storied fraternity/sorority system, and I was a member of Bones Gate Fraternity (a multi-cultural 'student-tavern-like-club' modeled after
Animal House
) and Fire & Skoal Senior Society (Dartmouth's oldest co-ed senior club and arguably its most savvy).
I can say from personal experience that a film such as
The Skulls
encourages dialogue about the psychological interplay between democracy and cutthroat behaviors.
Capitalism can be both dangerous and intriguing, and that's what
The Skulls
explores (entertainingly!).
That's why I like comparing
The Skulls
to 'contract-dystopian' American films such as
The Matrix
and
School Ties
.
I'd like to form a 'pro-populism secret society' with the following 'celebrity' members: Bill Gates, Kurt Russell, Anne Hathaway, Bjorn Borg, Errol Flynn, and Bill Clinton!STUDENT 1: Do you think this 'club' will make us 'stronger'?
STUDENT 2: Skull-&-Bones is as prestigious as Blue Devils basketball!
STUDENT 1: We don't get TV attention, though.
STUDENT 2: That's why we have secret-invite parties.
STUDENT 1: This sort of feels like 'Halloween.'
STUDENT 2: We all wear vanity masks.Fire and Skoal (Dartmouth):
