Why does this movie have 2 sequels?

When the first one already was horribad?
I saw this movie last night with high hopes, and man it was just bad in every way.
Opinions?

I think the sequels are direct to dvd and have little or nothing to do with the original, such as Butterfly effect 2 etc not that I've seen them. But I suppose in this case that aint a bad thing!
Which will it be? Lets get decadent.

Apparently the original movie had some cachet, because the sequels wanted to cash in on it. KA-CHING!!
