What the hell is up with those last few episodes. You really can see the immediate deterioration of the anime following Anno's leave. I love this anime because it is so funny, the animation with Anno is excellent, and both the music and storyline was great. I never did heed the warnings of realizing that the last few episodes were a big disappointment and that the last one had no real ending. Still, despite all that, Kare Kano is a pretty top notch anime.
I just wish that Anno could have got more directorial freedom. The person that directed the last few had too much kanji with no subtitles to translate, AND what was up with the animation style of episode 19?! That one was TERRIBLE! However, it does say something about the work itself if it can still be a kick ass show even with the last couple of episodes being subpar. Anyone else agree with me?

Yeah, sad but true. After the ingenious first 6 episodes the last 6 really semeed weak. I was shocked when I first saw the ending and realized how unfinished and awful it was, just leaving the message "See you next time!" But there wasn't a next time!!!
And what was up with that fat kid?! Why put him all out of the blue in the story when the ending was just a few episodes away? It had no sense letting him steal away the story from Yukino and Arima.
Now we will never find out what will happen with that school play( except if we read the manga ).
But that animation style in episode 19 isn't that bad. You know, after Yukino and Arima "did it" everything semeed weird and this animation brought a weird mood. And it had that picture of the real man. -

I didn't mind Tonami, because I liked Sakura but I figured that it would be okay to add him if the show were going to have 39 episodes. After Arima and Yukino did the deed, everything went to hell. I just wish they could have at least given the show a definite ending

I saw the last episode yesterday and was very disappointed with it (especially since I've been watching the series for over a year On Demand!)
I have the manga on my wishlist but I guess I'll have to purchase sooner than later! LOL
