Secrets so big and career threatening he can't even turn to Benson for support? AWWW.. we don't need that. It tells me Benson is part of it and that is just awful. We wanted more Barba but not Barba being ruined and humiliated. Are we going to find out he and Benson have been banging for five years while working on cases and his course of action is to declare his love for her to the world? Or marry her? We didn't need Barba in deep doo doo. This show is off the rails.

For real? I figured ( when I calmed down) it was something that would be resolved by the end of the episode. I'm going to guess it was his father and that's why Barba balls up his fist at the thought of him 15 yrs after he's dead (Padre Sandunguero). Explains his attachment to large, protective women. Thanks. Hope your rightsort of. Poor baby.

I came up with three or so scenarios.1 Not long after he left Brooklyn they were brought down in a big sex scandal..that didn't happen overnight. How long can you work in a corrupt place before your expected to join or at least keep your mouth shut? 2. Poor Latino boy on full scholarship to Harvard Law. I favor this because it would be a good issue to addresshow the rich kids he wanted to please and accept him treat students like himand the things they're made to do to "fit in". And he did fit inhe's insulted about his rich friends. 3. He f'd with a case on someone's behalf. The teaser said it affected his life more than he thought, Benson couldn't help him, and it could affect his future and wreck his career. Number 2 is closest I feel to filling that descriptionespecially if it has to do with law school, the Bar, something not right or a "cheat" somewhere in that time frame. He thought it was long over, it gets bigger, and he's probably going to solve it himself by the end of the episode. It won't drag out because MH won't give him more than one episode!
