lolwell in my mind, i see Tenchi noticing how hard she works and how much of an effor she puts into everything, and how different that is from Mihoshi, Ayeka, and Ryoko, and he would fall for her like that. He would most likely be killed by Mihoshi after a week, by accident!

Lol! It's funny how he's so shy with them at times. It's like he's never encountered a girl before and just doesn't know what to do with them which gives the series a bit of comic relief. And yeah, within one week of being with Mihoshi, she would find herself being convicted of gross negligent manslaughter. Don't you think Tenchi Muyo's a bit "girlish?", or am I wrong?

it appeals to women's emotions, but guys feel the same way most of the time. Tenchi was raised without any real female influence in his life. So when 6 girls are just thrown into his life, and half of them fall in love with him, it kinda throws him for a loop. But he remains a gentlemanmost guys would be perverts when it came to the same situation!

Tenchi reminds me of myself when it comes to girls. The way he handles them and speaks to them etc. I used to be quite shy with girls and everytime I watched Tenshi I would think: That used to be like me! But I respect girls, even though a lot of them do my head on some occassions. It's cute how these girls who are very pretty and could want any other animated male out there, just want this dude. Even though it has some feminine elements, I like it, even though some of my family members have "masculinity issues" and take the mick out of me for liking some "girlie" cartoon, I just tell them to "go f u c k" themselves!"
I like Japanese cartoons regardless of their content or target market.
It's not just the whole suspense of who-will-he-go-for? plot I'm into, it's the humour as well. Especially in episode 2 where Ryoko wants her gems back and Tenchi assumes she wants his testicles; and in the next episode where she starts feeling him and goes a bit lower. That had me cracking up. I thought: Isn't this meant to be for kids?

Yea, Tenchi can definitely be a role model when it comes to girls. He treats them with respect and doesnt take advantage of their feelings. He's only used physicality on Ryoko once and that was to protect his 'daughter' in the second movie.
A good quality show should have some feminine elements to it, or else it just becomes a show only juiced up guys can watch. No one wants pure unadulterated violence when it comes to their shows. They want some emotion to their characters.
And japanese cartoons are meant for EVERYBODY.they have the most perverse things there. America tries sooooo hard to cover it up when it comes here, but you KNOW what's what when you see it. That's why i love anime!

You can tell the grade of a countries take on morality by the amount that it censors anime imports.
I couldn't believe it when I saw how much of the original Tenchi OVA was cut when Cartoon Network got hold of it. They cut half of the crude jokes out.
The same for shows like Blue submarine number 6, where they airbrushed out all of the smoking, or Sailor moon and CSS, where they axed pretty much the last half of both series because they had gay charaters in them.

yeait's a shame. All you have to do is look at Dragonball and Dragonball GT if you want to see some insane editing and censoringit's incredible how much money they spend on trying to censor it.
Im gonna have to get the OVA of Tenchi in Japanesei KNOW im missing out on that one!

Some of the censorship that I've seen has been just plain silly, and almost all of it has been because "We can't show that to children", which kind of begs the question, why didn't they just choose a childrens anime in the first place, rather than censoring one for teens.
In the case of CN, they're just prudish, but other companies like 4Kids are downright nasty, they purposfully try to 'remake' anime, even going so far as to cut two or three episodes together to make an entierly new episode with an altered plot just to make it their own. They also change the names and locations to trick people into thinking that they are an American made cartoon.

They broadcast the complete unedited BDZ and Naruto on TV in China recently, and it was far cooler than watching the dumb cut version on Cartoon Network.

I'm mildly confused about how this fits in with the series.
I was certain that the series said that he definetely ended up with Ryoko, and now it says that he might have ended up with her.

well in the movie, he definitely ends up with Ryoko, but all the movies take place in a different timeline, also most likely, dimension than the series. Example being Kiyone, who only appears in Tenchi Universe and Tenchi in Tokyo, and who does not exist in Tenchi Muyo at all, is in all three movies as Mihoshi's partner.

It's nice to see another person who likes the idea of Tenchi/Kiyone together. Don't get me wrong I like the whole Ryoko with Tenchi idea, but not as much as the other one. Seems like there isn't a majority of supporters for it, but it's kool to see someone else here who likes it.
You can also see alot of the unedited animes on youtube, depending if they're uploaded yet or not.
As for why you don't see kiddy animes that don't need to be edited, it's because they're all a little scary for people, for example HELLO KITTY. Most of the more mature animes are the better ones anyway example DBZ, Tenchi, Full Metal Alchemist.

Thanks, I've been actually hoping they make a new series that focuses on some of the characters like Kiyone, I thought she really got very little screen time or speaking parts. Plus no back story on her, who she is, her family, and backstory. This might have helped in Tenchi in Tokyo, but instead of working on the characters that we all like and know, they add a completely new character to discover. Then that new character dies, and we're still left with the questions about the characters that are still not answered.
Even Sasami really got a cut in plot and screen time, as she was really only there for cooking or the "cute" moments with the cabbit.
So maybe a new series with a new sorta couple, something besides all the Tenchi/Ryoko/Ayeka pairing as they've been done in the previous series, but you gotta keep the obsession/rivalry fights between the princess and space pirate, since it's a true part of this show.
It would be interesting, and hopefully if they do make a new series, they won't make it like Tenchi in Tokyo. If they keep it like the first two seasons, keep the action, but lose the "villain of the week" type episodes. I liked the adventure and action from Tenchi Universe, but I thought that it was trying too hard to be like the OVA. So a new storyline (doesn't have to be completely new universe..or maybe it does not sure on this lol) that doesn't bring us the same villain Kagato, but someone new. My main thought was there could be a civil war for Jurai (this type of plot based on Tenchi Universe) as there is no acting ruler on Jurai, since Yosho is still considered missing, Tenchi doesn't want the throne, Ayeka wishes to stay on earth to win Tenchi's heart..still, and Sasami missed the Earth and ran away with Ayeka. So now they all have to return to try to settle the dispute.
Just an idea anyway. Sorry for the wall of text, I didn't mean to type that much, guess I got a little carried away.

from seeing the third ova, i was amazed where they went with the series, but it looks like they erased any chance of Kiyone showing up in that universe at least. Aparently, in the series, Tenchi's mother's name is Kiyone, and we see one of Mihoshi's partners, so it doesnt look good for our Kiyone.
But i always hoped she would get added in, but the movie and 'Tenchi in Tokyo' Tenchi are quite different from the original OVA Tenchi we see in the first series and Tenchi Muyi GXP. it doesnt look like he EVER plans on dating anyone. I dont know if there is a girl out there that can make him fall in love at first sight. I guess OVA Tenchi has just seen enough in his life. Altho the OVA kind of hints at (well, in the end, just gives away) who Tenchi ultimately chooses, and its a decent decision.
If they were to make another series tho, or just continue the ova again, i would like them to just pluck Kiyone from a different dimension even, hopefully the Tenchi Universe Kiyone, since we had a decent amount of character development with that one, and just bring her into Tenchi's life. With her work effort and skill and overall kindness, and non-bitchery to Mihoshi (unlike Noike), i think he would fall for her, and not choose Ryoko or anyone else.
And there is always Reia.she's cuteand olderand hotand big boobed.and she's known him since he was a kid.right up Tenchi's alley! lol
and now im done ranting.you're idea was pretty kickass too.
I did hate the 'villain of the wekk' aspect of Tenchi in Tokyo, but i did appreciate the storyline, and the ability of Tenchi to solve problems with killing.
And if you saw the complete third OVA, you should know there is another character coming at some point, or maybe that is already here.im not quite sure myself. I saw Tenchi GXP before i saw the third OVA, so im lostlol

I've only seen part of the OVA so I'm not as knowledgeable about it and it's newer characters as I am with Tenchi Universe and Tenchi in Tokyo.
But yeah Kiyone wasn't created by the OVA's writer so the only chance we get at seeing her in that series is the 2nd Tenchi movie, which was never really explained why she was there lol.
I could see Kiyone falling into another dimension like you said, all they really need to do that is

                                    1. One of Washu's inventions.
2.Kiyone standing close to one of those inventions.
3.Mihoshi lol, nuff said for that.
As for Tenchi in Tokyo I thought it was alright, but no where near as great in quality like the previous two.
For starters the art style, too me it just seemed to comedic looking. I mean look at Kiyone and Washu, their ears stick out like Dumbo the elephants. It also had a fuzzy sorta look to me.
Tenchi's attitude towards the girls, I know it's considered to be part of the story, but he really over did it. I can say I really started to hate his character alot.
The voice actors, this one is minor as most of the English cast remained the same. But the voice actors for Grandpa Masaki, Tenchi's dad ,Kiyone, and Mihoshi were alot better in the prievious seasons.
I also heard that some of the original voice actor for Ryoko wasn't even in the 3rd OVA which kinda dissappointed me.
Though I do agree I like how Tenchi never really resorted to violence all the way to end, most of the episodes seemed well just filler to make the series almost as long as the other two series.

The thing that annoys me are the people who knock Tenchi, ones who call him gay for acting the way he does. I read posts by retards saying "if that was me I would walk right up and" you know.do whatever bulls*** they can think of. I imagine it would go something like this. The New Tenchi Muyo series. A story about a bunch of girls who end up at some underachieving slobs house. They greet him, so he walks up and tries sexually assaulting him, then for the rest of the 20 minute episode they bludgeon him until he expires, then they go back to their home planets. The end of the series. Meanwhile Tenchi fans are pissed they spent $30 for a dvd of this tird.
On the subject of censoring anime, can you imagine what they would do to GXP if they wanted to play it on cartoon network afternoons??? Tenchi Muyo was mauled by CN, but this series makes that look tame. They would probably knock off 40 minutes of material.

If you watch the Japanese version, it's a little less obvious that he came back because of Ryoko. The whole bit at the end is toned up in the English dub.

well even if it's less obvious, he sits down with her at the endthat is about as much of a hint as you can getand the fact that she is the only one who tenchi can remember when he is under that lady's spell.
