Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Ginger Snaps

I often like to think about possible turning points in the film where things might have ended differently for Ginger, Bee, or someone else involved in the film. It's great for fan fiction, naturally.
Chiefly, I think about if that janitor hadn't made it into the office and saw Mr. Wayne the way he was (dead). He might have lived, and the two girls may well have made it to Sam's place at the same time, gotten more of the treatment made and Ginger could have at least bought herself some time. Bee might not have had to resort to infecting herself, and the ending to the film may well have been a lot different. Maybe they both would have survived.
Or, as covered here on the board briefly, if the girls had reported Trina's death and the police had concluded that it was an accident. Who knows what they would have done about Morley if Ginger chose to confess about it. I think being as young as she was she might well have been tried as a juvenile, but I don't think it would have been that serious.
Of if Pam had seen the blood stained clothes and the dog collar in the bathroom, and Ginger had killed her in an attempt to cover it all up. What would she have said and done afterwards, told Henry, Bee even? How would she have explained it? Then maybe Pam would have been the one buried in the shed/Wendy house, and Henry would have been stranded there for a lot longer and things would have been different after Trina's death. Henry would have come home later, and Trina might well have stayed in the freezer for longer, because Ginger would then have to worry about Bee knowing that she had killed Pam. If Ginger had told her about it, Brigette might well have gone to the cops I think that might well have been the tipping point for her. Bee would have been practically innocent at that stage it was only because she carried on trying to cover things up she essentially made herself an accomplice to murder.
Or if Brigette had woken up earlier and gotten the treatment and brought it back and even given it to Ginger while she was sleeping, which probably would have woken her up, but at least she would have been dosed. Of course, it not curing the lycanthropy might have meant that it would only have delayed the inevitable. And I guess it's a case of too little too late, because Trina was already dead, although it might have made Ginger at least more lucid in order to just go ahead and report the death, and it might have saved Mr. Wayne and Mr. Ho (the janitor) from being murdered, perhaps even Sam too.
There were points in the film where I thought, if only this had happened. Some of it defied logic, like only making enough treatment for one syringe full. I know it would have made the plot a lot different, but still.
I guess I might have handled things differently.
