Meet the Fockers had some moments where it was a decent movie and funny but nowhere near as good as the original so I hardly ever watch "Meet the Fockers" but did enjoy seeing it once or twice. "Little Fockers" sequel was absolutely horrible, should never have been made and something I will never watch again, none of the magic like from the first one and a little from the second. I think the biggest problem was the director of the first two bailed on the third. They should have made Little Fockers a Christmas movie and focused totally on Christmas or maybe going on a vacation where nothing went right, then it might have been decent.

They should have gone to the 1st film's original writers, Greg Glienna and Mary Ruth Clarke, to write the sequels.

In my opinion, the sequels are the same story but with added characters. Jack doesn't trust Greg. Greg tries to make Jack Happy but ends up making mistakes. Jack and Greg come to an agreement and Greg is now in the circle of trust.

This, pretty much. 1st is still my favorite but I really like 2 & 3.

i don't see how this movie would be ruined by the sequels. simply don't watch them as i don't since they are forgettable where as this movie is still memorable as i just finished re-watching it just now, which is probably the first time i re-watched it in at least 5+ years, and it held steady even though it takes a little while to hit it's stride. it's still one of the best comedies out there when is all said and done.

Nah, Meet The Fockers was a good sequel. It introduced Greg's parents who were portrayed by Streisand and Hoffman superbly. It was also a good bit of fun to watch someone in the form of Greg's parents actually call Jack out on his unreasonable, obsessive and idiotic behaviour and have someone on Greg's side for a change.
Little Fockers, however well that's another story.

I'm re-watching Meet The Parents right now. I'm binge watching the trilogy even though the third sucks. The first is great, the second one is almost as good, but the third one shouldn't have even been made. It tried to hard on recycling the same jokes after so many years. I should have known it was going to be bad the first time I saw it when Dustin Hoffman, who originally wasn't in it, decided to film a few scenes as a way to try to "save" the movie.

I only watched Fockers and the Little Fockers once each. They're easily forgettable.

After everything Greg and Jack went through in this film, they go back to square one in Meet the Fockers. I know it's just a comedy, but still. I wanted Dustin Hoffman to just punch Jack square in the jaw. He was in the wrong. He's a guest at their own house, and he's still intimidating his future son-in-law.
