What kind of teacher would not check on her kids when someone was telling them that they were trying to tell her something, but instead answers her cell and say hold on a minute?

yeah I know. I am not allowed to answer my cell when I am teaching. we can't even use our cellphone to check the time.
however, in my area, if we are on our cellphone we run the risk of having the kids actually setting the school on fire [actually happened].
I have a feeling that in her area the kids were better behaved.
I thought I saw an assistant, too so she wasn't completely alone. we don't have assistants in kindergarten where I am. we barely have naptime in PREK!!
OH THANK YOU GOD! THANK YOU SO

Teachers don't go outside for extended conversations with their partners, then take cell calls and just leave their students up to their own devices, unless they're used to riots taking place in their classes. Having said that the movie clearly needed a set-up where the Pam couldn't see what Greg and the class had planned for her.

And that is why it is a movie. They try to compensate for what THEY want to do because of the scene, rather than answer a question of why it would not be like this in real life. You found the goof!
