Uh. 'wannabe brit'? What exactly is wannabe about actually being Scottish, and therefore a brit?

A lot of Scottish people consider themselves separate from their southern countrymen, and it's like a thorn in the side to have the british flag flying at the castle in Edinburgh. Try calling Sean Connery "British" to his face, I dare you.

Alan Cummings is actually Scottish, but in the movie his charcter was actually American using a fake British accent. Therefore, "wannabe Brit".

how does speaking with an accent make
                  an actor a 'wanna-be' anything?
does that make alan a 'wanna-be' german in 'x-men' 2?
kate winslet a 'wanna-be' american in 'titanic' or 'eternal sunshine of the spotless mind'?
gary oldman a 'wanna-be' (insert nationality here) in just about every
                  role he's ever played?
i think they call that being an actor.
an actor in any role is portraying a character other
than themselves, WTF are you talking about 'wanna-be'?
                  freaking ridiculous.

I don't think she actually meant the actor, so much as the character of Wyatt.

bdogg7 you sound like a moron! Have you ever seen the movie? Alan Cumming's character played an American who was speaking with a British accent to make himself seem attractive/cool (or "jerkin" lol) hence, he was a "wanna-be" British person in the movie! Idiot.

Hair seems to feature a lot in Alan Cumming roles. Didn't he play a hair dresser in one film?
