They are just picking people that fit generic stereotypes.

- A black woman
- An Asian
And everything seems scripted. These contestants know the game like the back of their hand. They are fans of the series and they have studied all the great players.
They use words like " represent season [fill in the blank]
And the final 3 pitch to the jury sounds like a job interview or pageant speech.
