Did Americans vote for a recession? Serious question

I know…
It's weird the blind loyalty of many of these folks to these politicians. As soon as someone I vote for is in office I am bitching about them when they **** up. They're just politicians.
Trump lied to these folks, continues to lie, and they continue to make excuses for him. It's weird. Even when your government has started bending the knee for frigging Putin. -

It's not weird at all. When you view the other side as evil then you defend your side at all costs. You don't want to criticize them and contribute to harming them because you view it as harming yourself.

and this is exactly why humanity is in that mess we're in right now bc of this self-centered self-destructive mindset.
we're the only species on this planet that is going to get itself extinct - if we continue thinking the way you described right there.
weird as **** and so out of kilter with the natural law and stream of time of the universe. the evolution of mankind has become a mistake of nature evolving from trial and error. all these multiple global crises that shook the world in the past decade or so are the result of a long process of natural selection and adaptation which formed our current mindset. our actions, such as environmental destruction and irreconcilable social conflicts, indicate a mistake, a failure, in our evolutionary path where we have caused significant harm along the way. if we continue that way, if we continue to think the way we do, the human species will cease to exist.
now after all that happened throughout human history, after all the destruction humans have done to this planet and to ourselves, maybe that is what nature has in store for us now, retrieve this error by letting us do the things that we are best in: kill and destroy which will eventually lead humanity into getting ourselves wiped off the face of the Earth once and for all, before we can take everything with us into the abyss of total annihilation of the entire natural world around us.
i really do see that coming for us in a couple of hundred years from now bc humans never learn, never think ahead which is essential to our preservation, bc we are just so ****ing weird.

It is actually our greatest strength if utilized properly. Fear of annihilation is why we have society at all. It forces us to work together for the greater good. If the world were to face an existential threat, most of humanity would put aside their differences and work together to stop it.

that's a good point, yes. i do hope that for us (for our offspring and descendants)
honestly, i'm really not trying to appear biased here or blow my own horn, but an immediate liberation of the entire world from the grip of capitalist exploitation and a subsequently fundamentally eco-socialist stragegy on the basis of humanism - rejecting all supernaturalism and relying primarily upon reason and science, democracy and human compassion - will not only save our home, Planet Earth, but also our place in it, and ultimately the preservation of our species.
capitalism is the cancer that will eat itself and all of us up in a forseeable future if we continue to bank on money as the talker and the ruler, but considering that economic growth has slowed over the past decades everywhere anyway, there's not much to lose if we do an immediate and radical change of course and turn the tides of our modus vivendi.
sadly, all the current world leaders are not competent and capable of having this kind of prudence bc all they're in love with is power and money and themselves. we have to hope for the next generation growing up with much more foresight and awareness of our very own existence in this world to fix this mess that we created for them.

It should also be noted that the left's tendency to always criticize their own side is why they almost always lose. The right comes together and will support whoever they think can win, even if it's a lifelong conman/rapist, while the far left will say, "Yes, this person could win, but I only agree with 99.9% of what they say, so I'm going to vote for that Russian plant Jill Stein instead." Then abortion rights are gone, but at least you can pretend you are the noble one for being 100% ideologically pure. Leftists are ****ing stupid as ****.

yeah okay, that's true bc we are less selfish and more willing to compromise if it serves a greater good. we are also less prone to populism, elitist thinking and we're really not cool with one-man leadership culture bc we have learned from history that giving up all control of mankind's fate and into the hands of one single power-tripping man is hella dangerous.

that's an American only problem. i got none to do with that EDIT
